Tyler Perry’s Ruthless is back and bigger than ever! The 2020 BET plus series is a spinoff of the hit series Tyler Perry’s The Oval. Ruthless is based on the character Ruth whom runs away from her family and friends, taking her own daughter to joins a dark underworld brutal religious cult.
Over the past 2 seasons the show has garnered quite the following and ratings, earning a spot as one of the top shows on the bet plus app.
In 2019 Viacom partnered with Tyler Perry for the streaming service, creating a subscription based app- sourcing a library of TV shows and Movies. After the success of Ruthless Season one it was clear that Ruthless was here to stay, and Season 2 would follow up with a massive supportive fan base. While it seemed things couldn’t get crazier, Season 3 took fans on a twisted journey up to the mid-season break. The continuation of Season 3 kicked off on December 8th with explosive new twists no one saw coming.
Episode 12 starts with the aftermath of The Highest taking out Oliver ( Stevie Baggs) after being forced to perform an sexual act with Lacey (Alise Willis) in front of him. The Eldest Mother proves she’s willing to die for the Raku. Episode 13 kicks things into gear as Andrew (Blue Kimble) escapes. While attempting to set Agent Bryan Rollins (Jamie M Callica) & Lynn Rollins ( Nirene S. Brown) Free, they are caught by Dikhan who shows no mercy to prisoners and executes Lynn to the head after she refuses to comply.
Episode 14 has fans buzzing about new cult-member Josiah played by Vacation Friends star TJ Jackson. Josiah finds Andrew who is revealed as an undercover spy. Fans wonder if there’s more to Josiah and if he is covering up for his true motives in the Raku. The conversation between him and Dikhan leave fans suspenseful.
Episode 15 is one for the books! River ( Colin McCalla ) introduces Zane (Michelle Nuñez) to a “Pencil sharpener ” which is a form of medieval protection. River reveals he onceed used it to avoid getting raped. Zane takes matters in her own hands giving Manny (Joshua Adeyeye) a taste of Raku Revenge.
In arguably one of the biggest moments of the series, Ruth ( Melissa L Williams) and The Highest ( Matt Cedeño ) find themselves in a Slapping-Match after The Highest volunteers Ruth to Dikhan. Ruth’s back talk is backed with a Back-hand to The Highest, reminding him she’s the Raku chosen wife. This new found authority is going to shake things up, as for The Highest it seems he couldn’t be more turned on.
