Q. Can you tell us about your background and how you became known as “The Finance Geek”?
Denzel: A combination of friends and family gave me the name, and I went ahead and ran with it. The rest is history. My background is nothing crazy. I didn’t go to college or have mentors teach me about money. I simply went out and searched diligently for knowledge and wisdom around money and studied long enough to teach and help others. This happened after I graduated high school in 2014. My money and finance journey officially started in 2015 shortly after graduating high school, and it was one of the best decisions I made as a young individual.
Q. What inspired you to focus on helping mothers specifically with their finances?
Can you explain the concept of Velocity Banking and how it differs from traditional banking methods?
Denzel: My first client was my mother, and I helped her with personal finances tremendously to the point where I thought there were other mothers I could help. Over the last 5 years, that has grown to helping thousands of moms across the U.S. and has expanded to young people and Fathers of all ages.
Q. How have you seen Velocity Banking positively impact your clients’ financial lives?
Can you walk us through a typical client experience when working with you and implementing Velocity Banking?
Denzel: Velocity banking has impacted every single one of my clients for the better because they are fully equipped with advanced strategies that will help them make better financial decisions in the fast-paced economy we live in today. One of my recent clients I was working in just one coaching session with me we mapped out the first 6-9 months, and we went day by day, week by week, month by month to recover over 700+ in cash flow and pay off tens of thousands of dollars in debt due to understanding the strategic methods used to leverage debt and offset interest costs.
Q. Can Velocity Banking be used by anyone, or is it better suited for certain financial situations?
Denzel: Velocity Banking can be used by anyone but it doesn’t mean everyone should do it. Due to the nature of the concept, we rely on the math to tell us whether or not the strategy makes sense for a person to use. There are multiple factors I walk my clients and audience through to consider before implementing this advanced concept. This removes the emotion and allows the math to reveal the truth in someone’s financial situation. Once we have proof, it is a matter of properly educating and preparing the client to be disciplined enough to gain results extremely fast.
Q. Your YouTube channel has over 3.6 million views and 45k+ subscribers. How do you use your platform to spread financial literacy and inspire change?
Denzel: I create long-form video content with a whiteboard that gives people the feeling like they are in a classroom where they will learn the most valuable relevant principles about money and how it can change their lives and the people around them.
Q. What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?
Denzel: The best investment I’ve ever made was becoming a content creator. There is no other investment that compares to the amount of money generated already for me and the future potential financially speaking, but also collaboration and strong relationships built faster than ever, having content available for everyone to watch and learn from. Creating content right now is the best investment any business owner can start making and achieve results.
