The bakeries’ light green walls, pink accents, and contemporary-wooden shelves embody the sweetness of a sugar rush. Baked delicacies from Nice and Sweet Bakery fulfill more than your craving for a Canelé – you know, the French pastry made with dark rum or Screwball whiskey. Guests that stumble upon the magic of this Los Angeles bakehouse will discover a menu boasting house-crafted sandwiches like Zues’ Ex: a stacked hoagy enveloping medium-rare cuts of roast beef atop a crisp signature house roll. By 8 AM, early risers in the City of Angels are at Nice & Sweet’s glass doors, waiting for the moment to reunite with their favorite baked goods.
This Spring, the standout offering at Nice & Sweet Bakery is the Horchata Cinnamon Roll. The hand-rolled cinnamon loaf is generously coated with creamy horchata glaze – homemade from the kitchen each morning. Served piping hot and baked fresh, the Horchata Cinnamon Roll doubles as a morning delight and an afternoon pick-me-up. The golden ridges that gently tuck into the base of the cinnamon roll are gently hand-kneaded each morning – promising each guest a heavenly bite. Crispy and soft to the touch, fresh-baked croissants at the Nice and Sweet Bakery are filled with various whipped ganaches. In fact, at the grand opening event of Nice & Sweet, Chef Chris Sayegh served invited guests a new garlic butter-toasted croissant delicacy. The ‘Ice Cream Social’ Grand Opening event took place at Nice & Sweet on March 20th, 2024. The invite-only event was hosted by the decorated owner of Hollywood’s very own TCL Chinese Theatre.
The bakery ambiance has an artistic flow within it that makes it a hub of authentically united people. Each coffee barista has a distinct style of brewing coffee and arranging the delights of flavorful dishes. Nice & Sweet has become a favorite amongst aspiring writers and book readers- the dining room at the bakery is known to host eclectic personalities. Food influencers popular amongst millions of TikTok goers are now regulars, inviting exciting figures of Hollywood with them to pick up their morning bread bundle at Nice & Sweet. Since the grand opening event, new customers have been sailing the seas to France from Sunset Blvd. Each decident Pan au Chocolat is made from fluffy laminated dough and wrapped around in a formula-perfected Valrhona 55% baton chocolate. Nice and Sweet Bakery also offers a specially crafted, gluten-free option through the Chocolate Strawberry Torte. To balance the experience of flavors, The Chocolate torte is filled with a Valrhona Strawberry Inspiration ganache.
Pie is very special to the bakers at Nice and Sweet, who follow the lead of Chef Chris Sayegh. The kitchen personnel have perfected various pastry creations, one of those being the famous Fluffernutter Pie. The pie’s golden rubbed crust is filled with whole-skim chocolate filling and whipped peanut mousse – then topped with toasted marshmallows. Sister to the Fluffernutter Pie is the Banana Pie- a delicacy prepared with whole bananas that are hand-molded into a signature banana filling. This burst of sweet delight does not include the use of any artificial flavoring; it is organically topped with house-made whipped cream made by bakers as the sun begins to rise over Los Angeles.
Donut lovers will rejoice at the sight of the Creme Bruleé Donuts. These homemade doughnuts are hand-molded daily, topped with a caramelized sugar glaze, and filled with vanilla Bavarian cream – made from real Madagascar vanilla bean pods.
A unique twist to a timeless treasure: the Cherry POM Pie is made with whole cherries and POM Wonderful pomegranate juice, then topped with a hazelnut crumble. During discussions about the vision for Nice & Sweet’s menu, the culinary development team established that the single important element in the kitchen was inventiveness. “Inventing, to us, means to bring new flavors into the world; we want everyday people to enjoy our approach to baking.”
The refreshing Coconut Passionfruit and Yuzu Cake are popular choices amongst Los Angeles locals. The light-whipped cake is a soft heaven composed of coconut cake layers, passion fruit curd, and coconut Bavarian infused with Valrhona Yuzu inspiration. Individual slices of this mellow-crafted dessert are often sold out by the end of the day.
