At 15, Jourdan Evans is stepping behind the camera. This July, he releases a music video series built around cinematic covers of Elvis Presley’s hits, made with approval from Film LA. He takes on the roles of Creator, Producer, and Editor, a shift from performing songs to shaping how they are told.

A Classic Song, Reframed for a New Generation

The centerpiece is a reimagining of ‘Suspicious Minds.’ Elvis wrote the song about adult heartbreak. Jourdan reframes it for a younger audience. The video looks at what teenagers face now: misunderstandings, assumptions, fear, and the search for trust in relationships. The timeless themes of the song made it a perfect choice to tell a story that speaks to young people today, reminding them that the emotions and challenges they’re experiencing are universal, are often judged wrongly and what they are going through, and that they are not going through it alone.

From Performer to Creator

The project reflects a wider change in how Jourdan works. ‘I love performing, but I’m also discovering how much I love creating,’ says Jourdan. ‘The more I learn about music, film, and storytelling, the more I realize how exciting it is to understand every part of the creative process. It’s helping me grow as an artist and giving me new ways to bring ideas to life.’

An Early Start on Stage

Jourdan was born in Ohio and now lives in Sydney. He started his professional career at 12 in the production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Capitol Theatre. Since then, he has built a reputation for being able to create performances that connect with audiences through storytelling. Whether this is on stage, through music, or in front of the camera, Jourdan has a natural ability to draw people into the story. His comedic timing is sharp, his character acting is well beyond his years, but above all, it is his ability to tell stories that continues to resonate with audiences and sets him apart as a young performer.

Commanding Stadiums and Festivals

Jourdan’s live work spans festivals, stadiums, and theatres. He performed as the half-time solo headline act for the NRL Gotcha4Life Cup in front of more than 17,000 people, with Channel 9 Wide World of Sports broadcasting the set live. He supported ARIA-nominated artist Kita Alexander on the festival stage. He now joins two more music festivals as a support act, Night At The Barracks in Sydney and Night at the Parklands in Brisbane, both open-air amphitheaters that seat more than 3,000.

Theatre Roles and Charity Work

On stage, Jourdan has taken leading roles in City of Angels and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Away from performance, he has headlined charity events for the Sydney Children’s Hospital and Gotcha4Life over the past four years.

The cinematic music videos follow Jourdan’s debut EP, ‘The Collection.’ It points to where Jourdan wants to take his career next, with as much attention behind the camera as in front of it. Fans can stream the music on Spotify and on Apple Music. The film and video series will land on his YouTube channel, with updates on Instagram.
