The WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) has created what can only be called a cult following over the years. From the days of Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan to The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to even today’s lineup of the likes of Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, there’s no questioning the influence of the entertainment domain. And no one understands that like Michael Parker, the founder of Pro Wrestling Mini-Museum.
The idea for Pro Wrestling Mini-Museum came to Michael after one of his favorite places, the Pro Wrestling World Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania, announced that it would be closing. So in January 2018, after the big closure that shocked wrestling fans, Michael became determined to keep the museum experience alive through a virtual platform. He created an official online archive of various signed photos, authentic merchandise, signed magazines, ring worn pieces, and other memorabilia that showcased wrestling stars’ best and highlight-reel moments.
Parker shares just how much the Pro Wrestling World Museum meant to him. “It was a treasure trove of wrestling items and heaven for wrestling fans,” he shares. Apart from the closed-down museum, another inspiration for the wrestling fan was Adventure Land in New Jersey, where Parker would travel to—and still does—for autograph signings. “They have their own display from guests they’ve had in the store,” he adds about the experience.
After the Pro Wrestling World Museum announced its closure, it would make many of its items for sale. Fortunately, Michael Parker would be able to pick up a few of the prized items from the closed-down museum. Initially, the memorabilia was for his collection, a basement display called “The Wrestling Wall.” But he realized later that his collection could serve as a way to help ignite a love for wrestling and provide people with origins and stories from the wrestling world that would provide a wiki of wrestling knowledge and good-to-knows.
So Michael created the Pro Wrestling Mini-Museum to give people access to photos and information about wrestling stars, moments, and so on. Some of the collection’s prized possessions include feathers from Ric Flair’s famous robes and Carmella’s ring-worn outfit from the inaugural 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble. Michael continues to add to his collection and updates his avid followers.
Accordingly, Pro Wrestling Mini-Museum has become one of the most credible online platforms for wrestling information and memorabilia archives. Many stars, influencers, and wrestling fans visit his website and social media platforms regularly. The virtual collection has also been featured on many huge publications and news channels, like NBC, New York Weekly, Yahoo, and so on.
Michael Parker hopes that his online collection would help spark a sense of love for the wrestling world and draw more people to the entertainment empire. He keeps adding to his collections and continues to educate people on storylines, events, character development, and so on. He hopes to one day become one of the most significant thought leaders in professional wrestling and other adjacent fandoms.
