For many young adults, their career path is often determined by the activities they excelled in during their formative years. While it is a wise decision, breaking the status quo and exploring other ventures can result in greater fulfillment. One individual who chose to explore his other abilities is Nyshan Sadler; a childhood athlete turned photographer.
While growing up, Nyshan Sadler excelled in sports and was a three-sport athlete known for his undeniable talent on the basketball court. His original plan was to continue that into college, but a simple, fun purchase of a camera changed the directive of his life forever. He bought a camera for fun with his friends and started taking pictures. His friends praised his innate skills behind the lens, and what began as a fun experiment soon morphed into a hobby and a lifelong profession.
Soon, his first window of opportunity into the world of professional photography opened when he was invited to stay in the pit with his friend Justin, who was opening up for Lil Durk. From there, he was hooked, and there were no doubts about what career he would pursue in his adult life.
To excel in photography, Nyshan understood that it required hard work and dedication, and so he committed himself fully. Before long, his artistry gained recognition, and the “Crazy Story” croner, King Von, was the first artist to repost one of his photos. The acknowledgement placed Nyshan’s career on an upward trajectory and opened many more doors for him.
He began shooting rapper Jay Critch shows for a few months, and his shots were so good that the “Ego” singer sent him a direct message on Instagram for the photos and wanted to work some more. He also helped with a TJ Porter documentary and did a lot with TJ Porter. “I and TJ got cool over the pandemic, and I appreciate everything he’s done for me,” he says.
With his admirable talent behind the lens and his social skills, Nyshan had established an excellent relationship with Darrin Dee from the Ruff Ryders and had plans in motion to have a photography session with DMX before his unfortunate passing. “I was then invited to his celebration of life at the Barclays Center in April, which was a huge blessing, ”he shared.
When asked in an interview who was his favorite artist to have a shoot with, he said, “My favorite person to shoot with is probably ASAP Ferg; I love his energy.” He continued, “I’ve shot with many cool artists, but my most recent is probably my favorite with Internet money’s new artist Dro Kenji. I love his music and his photographer Mike helped set that up.”
Since first picking up the lens three years ago, Nyshan Sadler continues to create magic behind the lens, breathing artistic vigor into pictures, immortalizing smiles and happy moments. Now 22, the young artist is set to dominate the photography scenes with his artistic excellence. “I’m only 22, so for a kid that didn’t think something like this was possible, it’s really fun to watch myself grow. I also had my first photo gallery in October in the town I started called ‘Life’s Been Fun,’ and it was a big success to have all my friends, family, and strangers come to see my work on the walls!”
