NGT Academy, a Cybersecurity and Network Engineering Training Platform, Aims to Fill One Million IT Jobs by 2030

Cyberattacks continue to rapidly increase. Recent reports show that one in three Americans are affected every year by breaches, about every 39 seconds on average. As technology advances, so will cyber threats. That’s why it’s important to not only address these ongoing threats, but also control them by filling the gap we have in one of the biggest labor markets to date: cybersecurity and network engineering.

What is Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is the concept of protecting critical systems, networks, and sensitive information from rising and continuously evolving threats. Cybercriminals, or hackers, look to exploit the vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure networks with potential breaches including malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware and worms.

What is a Network Engineer?

Without network engineers, there wouldn’t be cybersecurity. Network engineers play a significant role in designing and implementing network configurations, troubleshooting, improving and monitoring network activity. Network engineers are responsible for upkeeping systems, including routers, computers, servers, and cables. With business and technology evolving, network engineers must adapt to developing network trends.

Right now, there is a high demand for IT engineers and by the end of this year there will be 3.5 million unfilled cyber jobs in the United States. The need for networking engineering overall is important because that’s the core of a cybersecurity professional, indicating that we need more trained talent in this space.

NGT Academy, a cybersecurity and network engineering online training platform, is solving this large demand in the IT market by providing its students with the capabilities and knowledge necessary to succeed in the IT industry with zero to little experience.

The company was founded by Terry Kim and Jacob Hess, former tech instructors for the U.S. Airforce, who trained thousands of engineers for the military. Their online training program combines military-style training with “job readiness” that is accessible on a larger scale.

While traditional, higher education is primarily knowledge-based, a career and education in IT and cybersecurity can be obtained in months with skill-based training.

“People are seeing that they can train across many platforms online and gain the skills that are in demand without having to go back to college,” Terry Kim, Airforce Veteran and co-founder of NGT Academy said. “This is a paradigm shift happening right now as millions of Americans laid off realize they need skills that provide better job security and now see this huge surge of online adult learners.”

NGT Academy’s curriculum is focused on real-world skills and preparing students to succeed in the workplace.

“With technology changing so fast, employers want employees who are trained in the latest technologies,” Kim continued. “We’re also seeing the demand for IT certifications and hands-on training outweighing degree credentials, where the degree is becoming less important over time.”

NGT Academy’s mission is to help one million people fill the vacant IT and cybersecurity tech jobs by 2030. Find out more about their programs here
