Pop icon Britney Spears has left fans swooning over her preparations to tie the knot with fiancé, Sam Asghari.
According to an Instagram post on Sunday, Sam Asghari announced via his story that the couple has selected a wedding date.
“The big day has been set!” Asghari wrote in a post to his Instagram story. “But nobody will know until the day after.”
Sunday, which coincides with the celebration of Mother’s Day, saw Asghari wish Spears a happy Mother’s Day and referred to her as “my soon to be queen.” This comes after Spears announced last month that she is expecting her third child and first with Asghari.
Spears, 40, proposed to Asghari, 28, in September with an Instagram video of her diamond ring and the caption, “I can’t f—king believe it.”The couple, having spent five years together, are now set to tie the knot to the excitement of friends, fans, and admirers across the entertainment industry.
The engagement comes six months after a Los Angeles judge terminated Spear’s existing court-ordered conservatorship, which had controlled a larger part of the “Toxic” singer’s finances and other aspects of her adult life for at least 13 years.
Britney Spears’ life is changing dramatically as she continues to enjoy her post-conservative freedom. The former pop diva is preparing for the birth of her third kid, her first with fiancé Sam Asghari, while simultaneously organizing her wedding. While the couple hasn’t revealed much about their upcoming wedding, the planning process appears to be well underway, as the couple announced that they have selected a date and Spears provided a close-up look at her wedding veil.
Later on Sunday, Spears shared an Instagram photo showing a cat on top of her wedding dress’ veil with the caption, “Introducing Wendy!!!” she wrote. “And yes, this is the veil for my wedding dress.”
Spears also reflected on her 13-year-long conservatorship in the same Instagram post. “I was a nun in my conservatorship!!! “The prayer of silence I’ve endured would possibly offend the pope.” She wrote on the next slide.
She added, “I will be honest, I never spoke at all when I was younger.” I think I was just shy because I can’t even stand in a room with people I don’t know. My anxiety is absolutely horrible.”
“The secrets I’ve had to hold for the past 15 years, I will say, are honestly paralyzing.” She continued in the same post.
The 2005 Grammy Award winner was married to longtime friend Jason Allen Alexander for less than three days in 2004. She was married to dancer Kevin Federline from 2004-2007, and the union produced two sons.
