The last couple of years have been progressive for many areas, including mental health. More people have been coming forward to seek the help they need, and while it is a constant struggle to stay okay, people have found that podcasts are therapeutic. Among the thousands of podcasts released is Juliet Ramos’ BrokenGirl Unchained Podcast, dedicated to talking about men and women’s mental health, empowerment, positivity, and healing.
Juliet Ramos is a divorced mother of four children who went through a journey to heal from her past trauma, having been emotionally and mentally abused. She came from a big family she no longer stays in contact with, having been raised by a narcissistic mother, and supported her narcissistic ex-husband’s bad decisions, sealing her fate. For most of Juliet’s life, she was mocked for expressing her feelings. Her feelings were constantly invalidated, and Juliet often found her thoughts twisted by her ex-husband or family, leading her down a road of self-doubt and a lack of self-worth.
Having gone through so much gaslighting and invalidation, Juliet spiraled down and fell into self-destructive behaviors that saw her make several bad choices and addiction. Labels like “dramatic” and “crazy” were often spat out of her mother or ex-husband’s mouth that made her contemplate deeply on those labels, giving her fueled passion for understanding mental health truly.
The process was lonely and difficult as she grieved her immediate family and the extended family who chose to disown her. When Juliet went through her divorce, it was short of pure pain, and grieved the losses as if she grieved for someone who died. As she healed, Juliet realized that one thing she was never getting from her mother or ex-husband was closure. And it dawned to her that sometimes, that is exactly what people need.
Understanding her past behaviors and other people’s behaviors became a key component in Juliet’s healing process. As a part of the healing process, Juliet felt she had to figure out a way to tell her own stories in her own words. She would spend hours researching, going to therapy, and speaking to professionals to build up what would be the content of BrokenGirl’s blog.
She knew that there had to be other people out there who felt the same loneliness and felt as broken as she did. Juliet dedicated a year to create a website before venturing out to a different medium and creating the BrokenGirl Unchained Podcast. Broken Girl Unchained was created to share her stories and personal experiences to let other people know you can always turn a negative into a positive. Juliet wants people to know that there is also love, compassion, and triumph despite the ugliness and evil in the world.
Axe Media directed the promo for BrokenGirl Unchained Podcast in LA, and celebrity makeup artist Marina Galstyan did the makeup for the promo.
The BrokenGirl Unchained Blog and Podcast is dedicated to helping people looking to find answers on healing from any trauma, divorce, narcissistic abuse, domestic abuse, or simply giving those an ally on their own healing journey while searching for answers, help, and support. Juliet’s mission is to continue her healing journey and enrich others with her stories from pain to triumph.
