The film Saved! 20th Anniversary screening at The Shady Dell June 14th at 7pm is Presented by Reality TV Star Gretchen Bonaduce who is a Hotel & Restaurant Owner in Bisbee. Brian Dannally the director of the film is thrilled about the event, he explains “It means a lot to me to screen Saved! for Bisbee Pride and I want to thank my friend Gretchen Bonaduce and the Bisbee Pride folk for inviting me to one of the coolest places on Earth.“Michael Stipe from the Rock & Roll band REM, the lead singer, was a producer on the film Saved!” is a thought-provoking movie that challenges societal norms and explores the complexities of faith, friendship, and personal identity.
This gem was directed by Brian Dannelly and was released twenty years ago today in 2004. The movie takes the audience on an unexpected and often humorous journey through religious dogma and teenage rebellion. The movie is set in a Christian high school and revolves around Mary, played by Jena Malone. Mary’s life takes a divine turn when she has a visitation from Jesus Christ himself, played by an ethereal-looking actor.
