South African filmmaker Dan Mace has signed a deal with MrBeast, one of the biggest YouTube personalities on the platform, to serve as the Chief Creative Officer of the Beast Philanthropy channel. Mace, a renowned filmmaker who has won numerous awards for his work, was personally chosen by MrBeast to take over the production and direction of the channel.

Mace and MrBeast first met through a mutual friend, Casey Neistat, while they were traveling in Cape Town early last year. They developed a mutual friendship, and Mace was surprised by MrBeast’s humility and reserve despite his massive following. After a year, MrBeast approached Mace and offered him the opportunity to create a pilot film for the new look and feel of the Beast Philanthropy channel. After showing the film, MrBeast immediately offered Mace the position, and they agreed on the terms.

Mace, thrilled with the opportunity, said that working with MrBeast and his team is a no-brainer. He believes that the knowledge he will gain from working with such incredible people within the social media space will be more valuable than reading 12 books about breaking down the YouTube algorithm. Furthermore, Mace is excited to work on projects to create long-term change for communities worldwide. He believes that the future of traditional filmmaking will eventually be housed on YouTube, and he wants to be at the forefront with MrBeast and his team.

As the Chief Creative Officer of the Beast Philanthropy channel, Mace and his team will reshape the channel’s look and feel. They want to find the perfect balance between high retention/views and making the content beautiful and moving. This will be a challenge, but Mace is excited to pioneer a new style of filmmaking for the platform.

Although Mace will need to set up shop in the United States for the foreseeable future to take on the role full-time, he will still be able to work through his company JOE and work remotely with his team in Cape Town. He has employed a Creative Producer to manage things on the ground while he is away.

Mace is also excited to share behind-the-scenes videos and content on his YouTube channel. He believes that most people have never seen what it’s like to work with a genius like MrBeast and hopes to share this experience with his followers.

The Beast Philanthropy channel has always been about doing good and helping people in need. With Dan Mace at the helm, we can expect more impactful and moving content from the channel. We look forward to seeing what Mace and the team will create in the future.
