In the ever-evolving music landscape, Voltaire’s Ghost is steadily making its presence known with a unique blend of Rock, Gothic, and Classical influences. As the band continues to develop, 2025 is shaping up to be another significant year in their journey.
The band’s recent single, “Death Becomes You,” has been included on the MediaBase Top 40 radio chart since its release on Valentine’s Day. The track is currently positioned at #60. The song, produced by Nashville’s Dean Miller, explores a narrative about a female vampire inviting her lover to join her in immortality. It features the band’s blend of rock with subtle Gothic influences, adding to their expanding collection of music.
Voltaire’s Ghost will also be performing at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, in March. The band has shows scheduled for March 11th and 14th at Shakespeare’s Pub on 6th Street. These live performances offer the band a chance to engage with new audiences while participating in a prominent music festival in the industry.
In addition to their live shows, Voltaire’s Ghost is working on a full-length album titled Black Petals Fallen. The album, recorded at Fusion Audio Solutions in Colorado between July and December 2024, is currently being mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Joe Ayoub. The album features 13 tracks, blending melodic rock with Gothic and Classical influences, further developing the band’s distinct musical style.
The band is also preparing an expanded version of their 2024 NEMESIS EP, which will include additional tracks and live recordings. This re-release aims to build on the success of the original EP, providing fans with more content and insights into the band’s musical journey.
The story of Voltaire’s Ghost began in Grand Junction, Colorado, where guitarist Magnus conceived the band. In the summer of 2023, Magnus released a new single each week from May to September, resulting in 17 tracks, including pieces like “Night of the Pumpkin Thieves.” These releases caught the attention of industry professionals, including Nashville producer Dean Miller, who later worked with the band.
By the fall of 2023, Magnus had assembled a lineup with singer Ruby Juhl, drummer Joshua Eggstaff, and pianist Max Reilly. Together, they began rehearsing and performing in local venues in preparation for recording sessions in Nashville in January 2024. The result was the NEMESIS EP, a five-track release produced by Miller at Sound Emporium Studios.
Following the release of NEMESIS, Voltaire’s Ghost toured Southern California in the summer of 2024, performing at venues such as the Whisky A-Go-Go. In the fall of 2024, the band signed with Curtain Call Records, and their first single under the label, “Christmas Prayer,” was released in December 2024.
In January 2025, multi-instrumentalist Finn Miller joined the band as a touring keyboard player. His addition is expected to enhance the band’s live performances and contribute to the band’s evolving sound.
As Voltaire’s Ghost continues to progress, their music remains a combination of rock, Gothic, and Classical elements. With upcoming releases and live performances, the band is looking forward to further exploring their musical ideas and reaching new listeners. The year 2025 appears to hold more opportunities for the band as they continue to develop their sound and engage with their growing audience.
