For any professional, artist, entrepreneur, and aspirant, one’s purpose is essential as a driving force behind their endeavors. Without a clear vision of the future ahead and a goal to fuel their initiatives, it won’t be easy to survive and thrive in the face of challenges. For emerging artist Cade Kegerreis, founder of DVLVD Apparel, his way forward is apparent. As a creative on a mission to foster unity and acceptance, he commits to offering his art as a way for people to learn more and understand the world.
This 23-year-old artist and entrepreneur is a promising talent hailing from Waco, Texas. Growing up, he has always been drawn to creating, and his characteristic artistry was evident in all of his ventures, from lego stop motion videos to the splatter paintings Cade sold on his childhood street corner. The years of practice prepared him for his years at Baylor University, where he graduated with a studio art degree in 2017. Since then, he has been freelancing full-time, experimenting through numerous creative jobs to find his niche.
Realizing that working on his own pieces brings him utmost fulfillment, Cade Kegerreis is now pursuing ambitious plans as the brilliant mind behind DVLVD. Launched along with his art exhibit, which served as his debut gallery show on view until September 26 at the downtown Waco gallery Cultivate 712, this brand is an extension of the said exhibition called Devolved — Unity through Evolution, Diversity, and Connection.
As a provider of paintings and apparel, DVLVD acknowledges art’s power in establishing links between people coming from different backgrounds and holding various perspectives. Through the pieces in its collection mainly centered on sociology, religion, and evolution and the highly appealing articles of clothing in its inventory, Cade’s brainchild hopes to provoke thought and bridge people out of ignorance and lead them toward knowledge and acceptance.
At a young age, Cade Kegerreis is already achieving career milestones that other artists his age are still dreaming of. And with the eventual expansion of DVLVD, he is bound to gain more acclaim both as an entrepreneur and a creative. With his dedication to elevating DVLVD as an enterprise that is focused on raising awareness about societal issues, it can be expected that his future ventures will all contribute to spreading the message about the importance of connection amidst diversities.
Moving forward, Cade Kegerreis aims to pour his imagination into his art series and launch more projects. He is also looking forward to painting murals that will highlight his signature style and introduce DVLVD to a broader audience. Moreover, he will remain appreciative of artists’ abilities to internalize the external world and capitalize on his inherent talents to produce work that speaks to people on a deeper level.
More than anything else, Cade Kegerreis vows not to be swayed by the shift of the nature of contemporary art towards appeal and aesthetics. Bearing his personal purpose in mind, this DVLVD founder sets his eyes on opportunities to highlight the themes and values promoted by his art and brand.
