EMPOWERMENT and personal growth in the pursuit of well-being.

Cyann, Can you elaborate on some key experiences that have influenced your perspective on the importance of self-care and wellness?

The biggest thing for me was moving from Boston to Los Angeles and noticing quite the difference in the temperament of people in LA. I started to tell myself it had to do with quality of life here. The weather being better and having access to beaches, parks and trails seemed to have people on the lighter side of things. I also discovered the Law of Attraction after moving to LA, and practicing gratitude is the highest form of self-care in my opinion, because the more grateful you are for anything, whether it be good health or the money in your account, being grateful for it is what will bring in more.

What does wellness mean to you, and how does it play a role in your daily life and routines?

Wellness to me means getting enough rest so you wake up energized. It means drinking warm water first thing in the morning to break your fast and get your blood flowing. It’s journaling the positive things, wants and desires in your life and blocking out the negative. Its about surrounding yourself with people who fill you up, and not those who drain you. It’s working out, to fill your body with so much endorphins you can’t help but feel good. Its eating the right food that produce dopamine and serotonin so we feel happy. Its hugging your friends, family, and pets to feel the love hormone, oxytocin.

Can you share some of your personal wellness practices or rituals that you find particularly effective in maintaining mental and emotional health?

I like to start my day with 32 ounces of warm water, which I drink while I send out a prayer to some people who are dear to me, every morning. I feel like it gets my blood flowing and brings my energy up right away, and I feel amazing being consistent with writing and sending the prayer. Also, the warm water keeps my digestive system ready for my meals. I follow my water with fruit, usually an orange, an apple and a banana. I like the natural energy from the natural vitamins in fruit. I either engage in an online fitness class or go to the gym and always workout for at least 30 min. I downloaded the headway app and I love listening to one or two summaries as I get ready to leave my house. I feel like when I start my days like this, my emotional and mental health are almost untouchable throughout the day. Almost 😉

What Collective Resiliency products do you recommend? What makes this product stand out in supporting resilience and mental health?

The collective resiliency glass timer has been such a gem. I find it hard to focus enough to meditate when I want to, but this timer is so elegant and it is 5 minutes for the small version and 15 minutes for the large, so its the perfect thing to focus my sights on when standing on my head or sitting in lotus position to meditate.

Could you tell us about your collaboration with Collective Resiliency as a wellness brand? What shared values do you bring to the collective mission of supporting mental and emotional self-care and well-being?

The collaboration between collective resiliency and I has been phenomenal. I’ve modeled for the brand and been able to test out all of the products. The scents are soothing and inviting, the teas are delicious, and the goal of bringing people together to focus on their well-being is ever inspiring and I’m honor to have been able to collaborate with such an amazing brand.

For individuals looking to prioritize their mental and emotional well-being, what advice would you offer based on your experiences as a health enthusiast and your collaboration with Collective Resiliency?

I would suggest focusing on your boundaries, opening your mind from just your perception to a broader worldly perspective, and speaking what you feel when you feel it, not allowing things to build into something far worse than how it started out. I will always and forever recommend The Four Agreements as the best way to prioritize our mental and emotional space, because choosing not to take things personally, can help us all in life far more than we can imagine
