While audiences may see a canvas as an artist’s ultimate accomplishment, the process is as worthy of amplifying as the finished work. It takes determination, dedication, and passion for producing art. But the process is just one thing millions of artists are struggling to have in their grasp—opportunity. Bridging the gap between artists and audiences is the artist resource collective Esoteric Collection.
Esoteric Collection was founded by Aaron Von Ossko, an artist, collector, and enthusiast, known for his efforts in helping artists build their career through his “anti-gallery” concept. As Aaron explained, while galleries can be fabulous for one’s image, not every artist can have the opportunity to have their work featured in such a setting. Hence, Esoteric removes the space between an artist and his audiences, allowing him to focus on creating his masterpieces.
“Our mission is to assist artists in supporting their creative efforts by providing media outreach and career development services to connect artists with larger audiences,” shared the founder. Esoteric Collection has stage shows across the country, bringing upcoming artists under the spotlight. The collection is best recognized for its “eclectic body of art,” home to over 100 works curated from artists on the east and west coasts.
More than anything, Esoteric Collection provides tangible and innovative solutions for the artists under its umbrella. “I’m giving other artists a voice, I’m giving them exposure which in turn puts money in their pockets,” said Aaron in an interview. “It just adds to the cycle of creativity, love, exposure, and happiness,” he added. The collection empowers the new generation of creatives such as renowned artists Retna, Gregory Siff, and King Saladeen.
Additionally, Esoteric Collection has produced events from Los Angeles to Miami under Aaron’s leadership. His eye for spotting talent and creativity has been pivotal to the success of many aspiring artists wishing to create a name for themselves in the industry. Aaron is extremely hands-on in building the careers of the artists within the collective, believing fostering such talents is key to creating diversity in the art world.
Asked what motivated him to build the Esoteric Collection, Aaron shared that his challenging upbringing turned him into the man he is today. Raised by a father he described as cruel and abusive, physically, verbally, and mentally, art became Aaron’s escape. “I’ve been blessed to connect with so many different artists who are from so many different backgrounds, styles, and mediums because it started on a personal level,” revealed Aaron.
Labeled as the “art crusader” by Kulture Hub, Aaron is truly paying his success forward. On his mission, Aaron aims for Esoteric Collection to set a better example in the industry, a map to follow by some upper echelon galleries and art fairs to increase their efforts in connecting artists to art lovers. Amid the age of social media, the founder has kept his movement with the times through marketing efforts and using the digital space to expose artists to viewers across the globe.
Esoteric Collection is indeed a cut above the rest. The founder has a distinct way of welcoming artists into the collection. He dissects the story and therefore uncovers emotion, pain, and the reality of an artist’s existence. “Looking at a canvas means that much more to me when I have that connection,” shared Aaron. Without a doubt, the collection would raise many more artists in the country and abroad to find their voice in the art industry.
