John Wilson, aka Fortune “The Wolf,” is firmly set on challenging the status quo for artists all over. The filmmaker is working on his latest creation, a crime drama for the ages, which will feature him as lead actor, director, producer, and musical scorer.
John Wilson is a musician, writer, actor, and director. Before moving to film as a profession, he was part of a promising underground Ohio rap group in the early nineties. With him in the group was famous comedian Tracy Morgan’s brother, James Morgan. Together, the two were relentless. Through the trials and challenges, they pursued making a name for themselves in the entertainment business.
With the rise of R&B and pop genres, John and his band started to struggle with making it in the industry. John later moved to events organizing, working with some of the prominent artists including Kool in the Gang, Micheal McDonald, Kenny Rogers, and The Beach Boys, to name a few.
Later on, he found love for filmmaking. He first worked on a TV show and made a deal with Amazon to distribute the series throughout the nation. But that proved to be a flop when John’s partner railroaded the creative direction and took off without notice. He later went on to start Ausar Films, a production company, which later became one of Ohio’s top one-stop shops for creative work.
Ausar does work in the area of music and film. John hopes that with his company and work, he can put the small and humble town of Youngstown on the map. He and his crew at Ausar have dedicated their work and lives to changing the narrative of their quiet city. With a team dedicated and ambitious enough to relentlessly produce films and music, the production house will likely be part of the next wave of brilliant indie entertainment moguls in the country.
Ausar Film’s latest project is a film called Killing My Obsessions, the story of a retired hitman and club owner who falls in love with a woman with a dark past. Apart from being the daughter of a big Mafia boss, she tried to escape a dark past ruled by human trafficking. At the helm of the show is no other than John Wilson himself. On top of directing and producing the film, he will also be playing the lead role of Fortune “The Wolf.” Moreover, the multi-talented artist has worked on scoring. The film’s main original soundtrack, “Our Love,” is also performed by John along with artists Amber Fox Fire and Black Onyx.
Joining John on the cast as his love interest is Michigan-based actress Melisa Sandlin, who starred in another thriller in 2018 called “Silent Killer.” The film follows the story of a domestic violence victim who is running away from an abusive boyfriend.
Killing My Obsessions is currently in post-production. Ausar Films is setting up for a release which they will be announcing very soon. John’s past films include the Sovereign Gangstas and Awareness Factor. He also starred in Loyalty, a film directed by David A. Romeo and in which John played the role of Chico.
