Growing up, Mike admired his father’s hard work as a mechanic. But life growing up in Richmond, California, was challenging and led him to a rough patch. It was a tough time that woke him up and pushed him to change his life for the better.
Mike remembers a time in high school when he realised he needed to make better choices for a promising future. When Mike found himself in jail, he had his wakeup call which gave him two options. One was staying where he was, stuck in a bad situation. The other was taking steps toward a better life. He chose the second option.
After getting back on his feet, Mike left his old town, eager to find better opportunities. He worked hard to create opportunities rather than merely waiting for them to come to him. “From there, I turned my life around and never looked back,” Mike said.
His hard work led him to a career in facility management, and eventually, his interests guided him to the world of digital marketing. Today, Mike is the proud owner of The Digital Marketing Agency & Consulting Company LLC, helping many businesses with strategic advertising and marketing services. Mike’s agency stands out in the digital realm, achieving milestones that many search engine optimization agencies could only aspire to over the years.
One big moment for Mike and his agency was working with the Unity Concert Series and Hard Rock Cafe Presents DJ Snoopadelic, Jordin Sparks, Estelle, Grandmaster Flash and More for ‘Together We Vibe’. This showed how effective digital marketing could really shine. Mike’s commitment to personal and professional development over the years lead him to be a certified marketer by the American Marketing Association & The Digital Marketing Institute.
Besides being a business owner, Mike’s passion for dance & music made him into a popular latin genre DJ & instructor. His DJ gigs landed him the opportunity to play on The Hornblower cruise ship and at a Marriott Hotel, making him known in the Bay Area for Bachata music, a lively music genre from the Dominican Republic. His love for music and marketing led to more fun projects like San Jose Bachata Nights, a dance company that makes a difference in the San Jose, CA community and beyond.
Today, Mike is always on the go, working late into the night, all to achieve his dream of owning a home in front of the ocean at his favourite place to visit on his days off, Pacifica, CA. “I’m committed to making my dreams a reality,” he said, always thinking of how to serve his community. Mike believes that with serving your community at the heart of everything you do mixed with hard work, patience, and resilience, most people can find success in any situation. And if you find what you love to do and are good at it, your job will never feel like work.
