The recent windstorms and wildfires in Los Angeles have left a profound mark on the city, forcing over 150,000 residents to evacuate and leaving widespread destruction in their wake. Among those affected is Dotan Shoham, founder of the Galactic Federation of Light (GFL), a Los Angeles-based spiritual lifestyle brand rooted in love, unity, and consciousness. Shoham and his two daughters, Shani and Tevelle Shoham, who lead the brand’s creative and global outreach efforts, lost their home in the Palisades fire, yet they remain steadfast in their mission—to use fashion as a tool for healing and connection.

Rather than viewing this tragedy as mere devastation, the Shohams see it as a moment of transformation. “We choose to see this as a powerful moment of cleansing,” the Galactic Federation of Light team shared. “This is a reminder to recenter, to focus beyond the material, and to continue spreading love and light even in difficult times.” The family has made it clear that, while they lost their home, their true foundation lies in the community they have built—one centered on resilience, support, and spiritual growth.

GFL is far more than just a fashion label. Since its founding in 2020, the brand has existed at the intersection of fashion, spirituality, and conscious living, aiming to inspire individuals to embrace higher vibrations in their daily lives. Each garment is designed with intention, reflecting themes of enlightenment, unity, and awakening. The Shohams believe that clothing can serve as a conduit for energy, and GFL’s designs are created to help wearers feel more aligned and connected to themselves and the world around them.

The Shohams’ approach to fashion is more than aesthetic—it is an extension of their philosophy on life. Every garment, from their relaxed-fit tees and tank tops to hoodies and joggers, is designed to evoke a sense of peace and harmony, mirroring the values that the brand embodies. Sustainability is also at the heart of GFL, with many pieces crafted from recycled cotton and produced at Pacific Blue Dye House, a family-owned facility that has been their creative home long before they officially launched the brand.

Since the fires broke out, the Shoham family hosted a booth at the Conscious Life Expo at the LAX Hilton to connect with the community. However, even before the wildfires, GFL had cultivated a strong sense of community through its digital platforms, live events, and shared philosophy of interconnectedness. Now, in the wake of disaster, that community is more important than ever.

Despite their own personal losses, the Shohams are channeling their energy into rebuilding—not just for themselves, but for the greater community. They have launched a relief initiative aimed at helping those displaced by the fires.

For every item purchased using the code LAFIRESUPPORT on their website, the Galactic Federation of Light will match it with an item donated to someone in need across Los Angeles, providing clothing for individuals who have lost everything. “It’s not just about giving people clothes—it’s about offering them something with intention, something that reminds them that they are supported, connected, and never alone,” says Shani Shoham, the brand’s creative director.

The initiative is part of GFL’s broader mission to foster a global community built on compassion and mindfulness. “Fashion has the power to uplift and inspire,” says Tevelle Shoham, who heads global outreach. “In moments of crisis, even the smallest gestures—like the comfort of a well-made hoodie—can make a difference in someone’s spirit.”

GFL’s commitment to helping others heal extends beyond material support. The brand is working to establish community events, donation drives, and collaborations with local organizations to provide ongoing aid to those affected. “We don’t want to just react to tragedy—we want to be part of a long-term solution,” Dotan Shoham emphasizes.

While GFL has always focused on fostering consciousness through fashion, the wildfires have deepened their commitment to community-building and resilience. The Shohams are continuing to host healing gatherings, meditations, and workshops in the coming months, providing a space for people to come together, share their experiences, and move forward with hope.

By combining fashion, spirituality, and activism, GFL’s purpose has become even clearer—to be a beacon for those in need, a symbol of light in the face of adversity. Their brand is not just about selling clothing but about spreading a philosophy that encourages growth, connection, and the belief that even in hardship, there is room for renewal.

“We believe that from destruction comes renewal,” Dotan Shoham shares. “This is a time to rise—not just as individuals, but as a collective.”

Though the road ahead remains uncertain, one thing is clear: Galactic Federation of Light is not just rebuilding its own foundation—it is helping to rebuild a movement rooted in unity, purpose, and the unwavering belief that love and light will always endure.
