Chasing a dream can be hard. More often than not, it requires a lot of sacrifices. It requires energy, competencies, economic resources, and support. Despite all these being the needs of both men and women, statistics still show that more women are not able to achieve their dreams compared to men.
Women are told to stay realistic, to stop dreaming, to play it safe, and never attempt to take risks. As a result, achieving their dreams appeared to be harder and more difficult. One who experienced such difficulty is Habiba Maulidi.
Habiba Maulidi was born and raised in a large family in Africa. Growing up, Habiba witnessed how her parents struggled to make ends meet despite both of them having a job. But this did not stop her. Habiba never complained about the difficulty of her situation. For her, complaining will never change anything. Habiba struggled and strived to achieve her dreams. And due to her perseverance and diligence, she was able to take up Philosophy, Law, and Politics in a university in South Africa.
However, she faced another challenge when she and her family moved to America. Due to the differences in the education system in South Africa, she had to start her law degree from the beginning.
Instead of giving up and complaining about her situation, Habiba took inspiration from her younger sister, who loves makeup and started her own beauty company. She established Habiba’s Beauty in December 2018. The company specializes in beauty and retail. It sells quality makeup and hair products online. The company values inclusivity and offers a wide selection of products suited for everyone.
Aside from Habiba’s Beauty, another venture of Habiba is her cosmetic brand named HDM Gold. She called her makeup line as such because, for her, a woman’s beauty is worth gold. Currently, HDM Gold’s makeup line includes a 35 color eyeshadow palette, five shades of lipstick, three shades of liquid foundation, and three shades of press powder.
Habiba’s Beauty and HDM Gold prides itself in the products and services they provide and offer. The HDM Gold makeup line, including their best sellers, their 35 color eyeshadow palette, and the HDM Gold liquid foundations are 100% cruelty-free. HDM Gold caters to all skin types but puts priority on dark skinned women as they have a more difficult time trying to find a foundation that fits their color in many beauty shops.
They have also ensured that their hair collection is one of the best offered in the hair market. The kind that the business offers is made up of 100% real human hair unlike any other. It has a volume that makes it more realistic. These products also have a life span of three years with proper maintenance.
Through her company, Habiba hopes to inspire a younger generation of girls that no matter what kind of adversity they experienced in life, they can still rise from it and fulfill their dreams.
