Hip hop is heavily saturated with music that promotes superficial lifestyles, degrades women, or speaks about violence. So in a sea of musical plays on the same themes, Frost G songs stand out among all others.
“No N word, no cursing, no degrading women, just hardcore hiphop.” That’s how the artist describes most of his music. Lavon, aka Frost G, is a highly active hip hop artist from Killeen, Texas. He is the CEO of Ice Water Entertainment, a music group that produces all of Frost’s tracks, music videos, and shows.
Frost G is a prolific writer and lyricist. When most hip hop artists might hover on the same themes and topics, he tries to venture into new soil as much as possible. Some of his songs include “Street Certified” & “Shadows” that can be found on Worldstar & Hiphop Overload , & also “Think About U” featuring Trae the Truth & China Marie, & “Relationship Goals” can be found on his youtube. His newest body of work include songs like “Touch Me,” “Fly Away” featuring Black Hebrew, “Genuine,” “OG Shit,” featuring Lil Hennessy, “What It Is,” “JAR- Just a Reminder,” and “West Side,” featuring Gary Jones and others. The hip hop artist has collaborated with many other musicians, including Spade, “Playa Dynasty’s” Trill Bellamy & Real(41Hoodboss), Austin Martin, Lil Sicc, King Solo, King Shoo, Mista Yg, and Gary Jones. He has upcoming music that he’s co-developed with other hip hop names like C. Stone, Nino Brown, Crooked I, Trae the Truth, & Post Malone.
The artist from Central Texas is humble yet creative. He recalls his simple beginnings when he first started pursuing music. Frost G began writing and developing original rap songs when he reached Junior High. After dropping out of high school he still managed to attain his GED, yet being a product of the streets he fell victim to the consequences & did 4yrs in prison. Reminiscing about his incarceration he states “I felt as though God was telling me that I spent so much of my life doing things the wrong way. That if I started pursuing things the right way after my bid that he would bless the fruits of my labor.” Frost G didn’t always have the support of the local community because after love comes jelousy & envy, but what he could achieve on his own, he set out and worked hard to fulfill independently.
What sets Frost G apart from most artists is his word play & delivery, aswell as his inclination towards more positive messages when writing his music. To the artist, his platform and talent are a way to speak life to others and give hope where there seems to be none.
On top of being a highly talented lyricist and performer, Frost G is also a businessman. He’s a brand ambassador & co-runs a company & website called BabiDaddi.com , an online shop that sells merchandise and products for fathers. The business’s mission is to promote active fatherhood in a day where dads tend to be perpetually absent in their children’s lives. “We took the ‘y’ out and put in the “I” in babi to demonstrate “I” am in my kid’s life,” reads the website. “The ‘I’ in DADDI demonstrates ‘I’ am responsible. ‘I’ am HERE.” Frost G takes his fatherhood as his ultimate inspiration in life. Moreover, he’s also an active caregiver to his paraplegic brother, who was shot in the streets of Killeen during his incarceration, a tragedy that left the artist’s sibling disabled for life. “His disability became my blessing not only being employed as his caregiver, but because it allowed me time & opportunity to chase my dream” says Frost.
In recent times, the hip hip performer released a full-blown album on Spotify and Apple Music entitled, “Hit Afta Hit… Song Afta Song.” The album contains 11 full tracks loaded with collaborations with other artists. The hip hop artist also released his music video for his track “Shadows” https://youtu.be/_HmUFV92PUY through Ice Water Entertainment. The video went on to get a feature from the top street culture websites Worldstar & Hip Hop Overload, and gather 7,000 collective streams on YouTube.
In all he does, Frost G hopes to be a bearer of love and light while never losing track of family importance as he works hard to reach his dreams as a professional musician.
