Now a force to be reckoned with in the trade, Thomas Berkely first delved into the niche space when he was enlisted in the Air Force at 18. There, he met his first mentor, who hails from a small town in Ohio. The duo immediately bonded over their shared passion for business. The mentor would later impact the young entrepreneur with some of his business knowledge, one of which was the ATM business.
“He told me that an individual could own the same ATMs that banks did, minus the cute coat of paint. He took me under his wing and helped me start my own ATM business right out of the military, and everything skyrocketed for me from there,” shared Thomas Berkley.
Since then, the firebrand entrepreneur has risen to the top of his field and aims to help others achieve financial freedom. In 2018, he created his first YouTube video teaching his subscribers how one could start their own ATM business. The video went viral and had an overwhelming response, with numerous subscribers asking him to keep pumping out the videos. Eventually, people started inquiring whether he could do everything for them for a fee. As he catered to their requests, the ATM Freedom University was born.
Since opening its doors four years ago, ATM Freedom University has helped over 600 students build successful ATM businesses. Through the brand’s “Done For You” service, the company has helped entrepreneurs gain passive income through a simple holistic process. First, they bring in a new client, onboard them, and find a location within 60 mins of the client’s home. Then, Berkley and his team will negotiate the contract with the business owner, ship the ATM to the location, send a technician to meet the client and install, program, and service the machine. Finally, the technician will teach the client how to manage the machine. The whole process is entirely hands-off.
