One would never take globally renowned security expert Jason Rorie as one with small beginnings, but he was born and raised right in the middle of a small town in Mississippi.

Jason knew he was destined for a bigger, more dynamic life. Soon after he graduated from high school, he enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy. This would be the turning point in his life. It was in the Navy where Jason’s tech and security career began as a Radioman/Information Systems Technician, where he held a Top Secret Security Clearance. His work environment involved military cryptography and encrypted messages and communication circuits.  He served two deployments to the Persian Gulf with a Mine Countermeasures (MCM) rotational crew, which uses technologies to find and clear mines from vital waterways. Aside from technical skills, he also gained valuable experience in leadership, work ethic, and conduct that he would look back on for the rest of his life.

Jason left the military with a renewed passion for life. His experience had completely changed him and set standards for how he wanted to live his life from then on. He attended college to learn programming, network engineering, and other IT skills. His hard work and intelligence earned him a degree in computer network engineering and a bachelor’s degree in technology management. While studying, he worked various jobs in the IT industry, from small-business consulting up to enterprise support. His work experience inspired him to establish his own IT consulting company.

Jason Rorie moved to Houston, Texas, in 2006 to establish Elevated Technologies. By 2009, his skills at acquiring and serving clients elevated his consulting business. While the long hours and the stress of work were building up, he had to come to terms with how big his company was getting. Jason started hiring employees to help him with the workload. This stage in the growth of his company taught him the importance of perseverance in achieving success.

Jason’s vision, passion, and hard work propelled Elevated Technologies to greater heights in the industry. By 2015, his company had become known as an established, trusted provider of technology services to a vast array of clients in the Houston area. By this time, the company was growing strategically and confidently under Jason’s leadership and committed employees. That same year, Elevated Technologies was recognized on the Houston’s Business Journal’s Fast Tech 25 and Fast 100 lists, which summarize the fastest-growing companies in Houston in any industry.

Jason’s focus now is on cybersecurity, an increasingly important area of information technology as more and more private information is handled on the internet. Jason has established two additional companies, Triad InfoSec and Cyber Security Insurance Group, to help small- and medium-sized business owners protect their businesses, their clients, and their reputations.

Jason has earned multiple certifications in cybersecurity and a master’s degree in information assurance and cybersecurity. His book, Cyber Security: Small Business—A Hacker’s Playground, was released in mid-2019.  The march toward reaching goals continues for both himself and his clients. Greater than the public recognitions, Jason Rorie knows that the greatest rewards are his happy, growing list of clients and the people that he helps protect from maliciousness.
