When you first meet Jillian MacKenzie, you can tell she’s someone who has lived through a lot and learned from every part of it. As the founder of Purposefully Align, she has built a coaching practice that resonates with individuals who appear to have it all together on the outside but feel deeply unanchored on the inside. Her clients are high-achieving executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders who are realizing that success without peace is not really success at all.
Before she ever became an executive coach, Jillian spent years proving herself in one of the toughest places imaginable. Fresh out of university, she started working at a private airport in the remote oil sands of Alberta. It was supposed to be a temporary job, but her drive quickly took her further than she ever expected. Within four years, she had worked every role from luggage handler to heavy equipment operator, eventually managing the entire airport and staff at just twenty-six.
It was an achievement few could match, but it came at a cost. Working in a male-dominated industry, Jillian faced constant pressure to prove herself. She endured bullying, bias, and isolation, and while she earned respect for her work ethic, she also carried the emotional toll of being one of the few women in leadership. “That experience shaped me,” she recalls. “It showed me how strong I could be, but it also showed me what happens when you lose touch with your own center.”
That realization planted the first seeds of what would later become Purposefully Align.

A turning point in purpose
As she climbed higher in her career, Jillian began to see a pattern not only in herself but in those around her. The people she worked with were exhausted, disconnected, and silently struggling. In a place defined by performance and results, no one was talking about the cost of it all. “I started to notice how much people were hurting under the surface,” she says. “That’s when I began teaching yoga at the site, just once a week, to give people something to breathe through.”
What started as a small side offering soon grew into a calling. She realized she could help people in a deeper way beyond titles, roles, and corporate goals. After several years of managing logistics and leading teams, Jillian made a bold decision. She left her corporate career behind and launched her own business, creating a space where professionals could reconnect with their purpose and lead from conviction rather than fear.
The birth of Purposefully Align
Purposefully Align was born from that vision; a coaching company built on the idea that awareness, alignment, and action must work together for real change to happen. Jillian’s philosophy is simple: you cannot create a meaningful life by avoiding fear, but you can create one by understanding it. “True power isn’t the absence of failure,” she says. “It’s learning to work with it. Fear can be the doorway to what you’re meant for.”
Through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and her signature twelve-week program From Chaos to Clarity, she helps clients move from confusion and burnout to clarity and grounded direction. Her approach blends spirituality with strategy, encouraging people to bring their whole selves – logic, emotion, intuition, and joy – to the decisions they make. It’s this balance that makes her coaching resonate with leaders who have spent their lives relying on results over reflection.
Finding strength through experience
Jillian’s work is not theory. It is built from experience, often hard-earned. From navigating the challenges of single parenthood to rebuilding her life after personal loss, she has had to live every lesson she now teaches. Those experiences give her a genuine quality that clients instantly sense. “My clients come to me because they’re tired of pretending everything is fine,” she says. “They want someone who understands both the business world and the emotional weight that comes with it.”
Her blend of humor, honesty, and insight creates an atmosphere where transformation feels both possible and practical. She describes her role as “the soul’s project manager,” helping people take their inner clarity and turn it into aligned, tangible action.
The movement behind the mission
Purposefully Align is more than a business; it is a movement built on the belief that people deserve to thrive, not just survive. Jillian’s clients often describe her coaching as the bridge between their ambition and their peace. Whether it’s an executive learning to lead with empathy or an entrepreneur rebuilding their business after burnout, her work reminds people that purpose and performance can coexist.
Her message is spreading globally through speaking engagements, her Interested in Chaos podcast, and her published guided journal, Purposefully Plan, which helps readers create daily routines rooted in intention. She also serves as a Master Coach and Trainer in her business program “From Chaos to Clarity”, guiding hundreds of students toward discovering and living their unique purpose.
A new definition of success
For Jillian, success no longer looks like climbing the next corporate ladder or checking off a list of achievements. It looks like an alignment. It looks like waking up when you said you would, with clarity, confidence, and peace. Her dream is to see Purposefully Align grow into a global community that empowers people to live purposefully and in joy, regardless of their role.
She says it best: “When you know who you are and what you stand for, every decision gets simpler. Life becomes less about chasing and more about creating.”
Her work serves as a reminder that the path to fulfillment begins not by escaping chaos, but by finding clarity within it. Through awareness, alignment, and action, Jillian MacKenzie continues to show the world that being real is not a luxury; it’s the foundation of everything worth building.
