There is nothing more inspiring than hearing someone experience being a nobody and eventually end up becoming a world changer.
Not everyone who succeeds in life had an easy start. Such was the case with the well-known marketer, Joshua Denne, who made significant sacrifices in life in order to evolve from a nobody into the Chairman of a world-changing organization like The Inevitable Group.
Denne was a high school dropout when he first met a dear friend who would eventually become his ardent mentor in direct-to-consumer sales and marketing. The concept was totally new to Denne, so he made the necessary sacrifices to learn and master the skills. He disciplined himself to study the trade for years and how different marketers would apply a variety of approaches to build a particular brand.
His journey was not without any challenges and provides him with a unique level of empathy for people from all walks of life and socio-economic status.. He understands what it’s like to be a multi-millionaire owning Rolls Royces and Lamborghinis on one hand, as well as being homeless and starting over from the bottom with nothing to boast about after some bad luck and badly timed decisions. Denne knows how traumatic it can be to be in debt and how all-consuming the fear that follows can be. Making and losing millions before making millions again are the life adversities that provided the priceless lessons that helped him forge himself into the servant leader he is today.
It is his eagerness to be the best at helping others succeed that is his most genuine and intriguing quality. He is nothing if not ambitious and yet his motivation is anchored in a visceral need to have a net positive impact on the people he works with, the brands he represents, and the broader state of humanity.
“I can’t solve all of the world’s problems, but I do understand what it feels like to lose people you love, to drown in financial stress and uncertainty, and to regain stability and have hope for financial freedom and a brighter future. I know how to overcome crushing adversity and to lead others out of theirs,” Denne confesses in a letter published on The Inevitable Challenge.
In his 22 years in the industry, Denne has probably seen all the possible good and bad experiences that can happen to a person running a business. His rich experiences, however, molded him into becoming a person who is very loyal and whose skills and efforts can revive even a dying business.
After losing it all in 2010 his turnaround began in 2011 when he found an opportunity that needed him when he was at his lowest of lows. An established skincare company was struggling with their transition from direct-to-consumer sales model, to a network marketing business model. In the next six years, Denne developed a team of people with strong leadership potential and turned the business around from running on financial fumes to earn over $220 million per year in revenue. He became the brand’s top earner for many years before he decided to sell his distributorship in 2018 and take a much needed break with his young family.
Denne was comfortable, secure, and stable when the pandemic hit the world unexpectedly. Having worked so hard to build his financial freedom, he could still live off on his passive income with or without a pandemic in the picture. His perspective of his comfortable life changed when he started to see the drastic impact of the virus on world economies. He was even more heartbroken to realize that those who suffer the most are daily wage earners, contract workers, airbnb hosts, and gig-economists who have no stable finances or diversified investment portfolios.
After giving it some thought, he realized that he is not someone who is happy on the sidelines and that his core DNA is to build. For Denne, now is not the time to stay comfortable; it’s the time to build and rebuild. Instead of watching the world be reshaped by others or people suffering from the comforts of his own financially secure quarantine, he has created his biggest goal yet and gotten back into the trenches to work with his country leaders around the world until it is achieved.
He has done it all before, and he can do it all over again. The pandemic is just another opportunity to add value to the lives of many people he will come in contact with. A true leader never steps aside in times of crisis. He comes forward and continues to lead and Joshua Denne is a great example of leadership in action that can inspire us all.
