Financial planning is an important profession that people typically overlook. Insurance brokers sell insurance to individuals and businesses, and asset managers make important investment decisions to grow their client’s portfolios. Insurance and asset management are only two of the numerous financial services that people need. Joshua Flanagan is a financial planner with a lot more to offer than these products to improve the state of his clients’ finances.
Joshua Flanagan is a Managing Director with Commonwealth Financial Group (CFG) and is committed to providing exceptional financial services to individuals, families, and businesses. With a focus on true financial planning and focuses on the clients’ journey and experience in financial planning.
In the process, the client is not a passive character, but one fully involved in the process and gains a deep enough understanding to thoroughly articulate their financial situations and the strategy they are taking to conquer their financial goals. Financial planning is an important tool for maximizing one’s finances, and effective planning prepares the clients even for times when significant financial changes happen, such as when one receives an inheritance or gets a divorce.
With a variety of functions in the firm, Joshua Flanagan recruits, trains, and develops financial professionals as they begin or transition their practice with the CFG. In addition, he provides assistance in the development and implementation of business strategies and the planning process, and he provides a keenly detail-oriented financial planning service exclusive to his clients.
One of the philosophies that he and his company adopted is to be a source of sturdy financial education and build positive relationships with enthusiastic professionals through their various financial services. To promote transparency of his services and with genuine concern in the client’s finances, Joshua provides extensive education for his clients. This education creates a foundation by which his clients can fully understand the processes involved in planning and its implications on their finances.
Needs are unpredictable, as no one can accurately predict what financial needs a person could have in a given time frame. Because of this, Joshua Flanagan prefers a wants-based approach to his financial planning practice. He helps his clients pursue their wants and gain fulfillment from them, and his dedication to giving his clients the best experience builds confidence and a strong relationship between himself and whoever works with him.
Joshua Flanagan and his wife, Kirsten, recently bought their first home in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He enjoys golfing, reading, training for marathons, quality time with his family, and fundraising/volunteer work for the Special Olympics. He has served 11 years in the United States Army National Guard. He started his financial career as a Supervising Agent with American Income Life. A few years later he found an opportunity for professional growth, and accepted a role as a Premier Wealth Advisor, Assistant Vice President at the Citizens Investment Services in Newton Centre, where he became part of a top-tier Wealth Management Team.
Today, as a financial planner of the Commonwealth Financial Group, he helps people gain fulfilment in sustainably pursuing wants instead of needs.
