Whether living comfortably or under challenging circumstances, survival, and success stories always inspire people to continue to live better lives. These are the types of stories people need to hear – stories that will encourage them to survive, to hope, and to fight when needed. Such is the story that 30-year-old CEO, Joshua Pollitt, is sharing with the world.
The young founder of East Coast Magazine Inc. is making an impact on the lives of people he encounters by merely telling his unique story of survival. Pollitt grew up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Camden, New Jersey. According to him, not many live long enough to go beyond 30 years old. He is one of the fortunate ones who made it out alive.
Life may have been difficult for him, but he used the same pain to stay motivated so he can excel in school and eventually in business. As a motivational speaker, however, he is inclined towards sending out a message of hope to his audiences. He wants people to understand that even though life gets tough at times, there is always a way to get out of the rut.
Getting out of an unseemly situation means exercising a lot of self-discipline, focus, and determination – characteristics that Pollitt possesses and values a lot. It was his time as a football and track and field athlete in high school that taught him the significance of hard work. He not only excelled in sports, but he was also doing very well academically. He became the president of his senior class.
Aside from being class president during his senior year in high school, he also held the same position in the Photography Club while in college at the Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. Pollitt became Director of Organizational Relations and part of the Executive Board of the Student Government Association (SGA). He was also the Public Relations Specialist for Men of Distinguished Excellence.
Pollitt was not just motivated to finish his Bachelor of Science degree; he was also bent on making a difference. He knew that there is a reason why he and his family went through such an unthinkable ordeal. Having this in mind always, he began to speak boldly in front of large audiences, knowing that there will always be somebody out in the crowd who badly needs to hear it.
Possessing the right attitude also sharpened his gifts in Astrology as young as 12 years old. His interest in Astrology helped him have a better perspective on life in general. At present, he charts programs for interested clients. He also teaches them the meaning of life as influenced by the planets and stars.
Pollitt devotes his time to writing his first e-book called “You Are Potential in Human Form” when he is not practicing Astrology or running his business. Aside from narrating his painful life experiences, he will expound further on beneficial topics. He is confident that this book will be a phenomenal hit once it is ready to be marketed.
Just like his namesake Joshua in the Bible, who led the Israelites out of the wilderness into the Promised Land, Pollitt is guiding people towards a better appreciation of life. He is teaching them to step out from the dark so they can realize their full potential.
