Karim Ghelani has spent his career moving between creative rooms and boardrooms, translating ideas into businesses and conversations into outcomes. As a certified coach, he now channels that range into a simple promise for clients: helping them turn inner friction into usable focus and encouraging them to repeat it daily until struggle can become strength.
The Power of Perspective Shifts
Ghelani believes that a truly transformative experience often begins with a shift in perspective. “A truly transformative experience is one where your mindset has shifted into a different frequency, a different vibration, a different way of thinking. Where once you imagined the world to be a certain way, now you’ve shifted your whole perspective,” he explains. This change does not typically happen overnight but rather through consistent practice and conscious reframing of daily interactions. He uses simple examples to illustrate this shift, such as reinterpreting the intentions of a driver who cuts you off in traffic. “Sometimes you have to make your mind believe certain things so you can go along your day in a better mindset,” he notes. By choosing more generous assumptions about others, professionals may carry less tension and more composure into their work.
Small Acts, Big Impact
For Ghelani, transformation is not necessarily confined to large milestones. “Two, three kind acts a day. Letting somebody in line cut in front of you… dopamine hit, by the way, and it’s likely increasing your euphoria, it’s helping the other person,” he says. Even observers seem to benefit, with research showing that watching a kind act can trigger a positive neurological response. This is why he encourages clients to focus on small, repeatable behaviors. “Little tiny incremental acts can lead to big changes. Small bricks build big bridges.” Service, he emphasizes, does not always need to be dramatic. A door held open, a quick check-in with a friend, or a sincere compliment at work can all contribute to building self-esteem and strengthening relationships.
Embracing Discomfort and Growth
Ghelani advises people to start wherever they feel comfortable, but not to stay there indefinitely. His own path included stepping into unfamiliar territory. “Do something out of your comfort zone. Take a dance class, you know, start with the walk. You want to jump right into it? Go for it. I did… I’m gonna go to the sound bath, I’m gonna go to yoga,” he recalls. Meditation, he acknowledges, may be intimidating for beginners, particularly for those with a restless mind. He suggests guided meditation as an accessible entry point. “You can go on YouTube and just type in guided meditation,” he says, noting that such tools can help calm the mind, regulate breathing, and improve energy flow.
From Struggle to Service: The Path to Inner Strength
For much of his life, Ghelani battled anxiety, low self-esteem, and the weight of unresolved emotions. “I basically pushed down all my emotions for all these years that I was covering with alcohol and other substances, that I really didn’t know who I was,” he reflects. Breaking that cycle required affirmations and a new sense of purpose. “I am worthy of love, I am worthy of a happy life, I am worthy of a successful business.” That clarity led him to define his purpose in one word: service. He stresses that helping others does not always have to be monumental to be meaningful. Whether mentoring youth, checking in on a friend, or creating a healthier workplace culture, the act itself seems to build confidence and resilience. “Service is, honestly, I think the key to really having higher self-esteem, higher self-confidence, and developing inner strength,” Ghelani says.
It was this journey, marked by struggle, reflection, and a renewed commitment to service, that inspired Ghelani to write Fate, Faith and Free Will, a book exploring how life’s challenges can become the foundation for purpose and growth.
