Kristina Menissov has been steadily carving her path in the music world, blending personal stories with hauntingly beautiful melodies. Her latest single, Hands, showcases a deeper emotional layer, reflecting her growth as an artist. In this interview, Kristina opens up about the inspiration behind her music, the challenges she has faced, and what drives her creativity as she continues to explore new sounds and experiences.

  1. Your newest single Hands was just released on September 20th. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the song and how it reflects your personal journey?

The inspiration for “Hands” came from my desire to fully embrace all aspects of myself, including both my strength and vulnerability. I’ve always believed that being truly confident comes from acknowledging the softer, more delicate parts of who we are. This song is a reflection of that journey, allowing me to express a side of myself that hasn’t always been visible because I thought being too feminine and wanting to just make someone happy is a sign of weakness in modern day. It’s a song that feels raw and honest, which aligns with my growth as an artist and, as a person and my personal life right now.

  1. You’ve described Hands as embracing both the strong and tender parts of yourself. How does the song balance these emotions, and what message do you hope listeners take away from it?

“Hands” perfectly balances power and vulnerability by showing that those two emotions don’t need to contradict each other. The song conveys the message that real strength often lies in being open, honest, and willing to let your guard down. I hope listeners feel encouraged to explore the delicate balance within themselves, recognizing that vulnerability isn’t a weakness but a powerful aspect of self-assurance and connection and could make the person who explores and the people around her happy.

  1. Working with producer Andrew Lane, who has an impressive track record with artists like The Backstreet Boys and Irene Cara, must have been a powerful experience. How did his influence shape the sound and feel of Hands?

Working with Andrew Lane was an incredible experience. His expertise and creative vision really helped bring “Hands” to life. He has a way of blending different elements seamlessly, and his attention to detail shaped the sound into something that feels both intimate and expansive. Andrew’s influence gave the song its smooth, refined edge, while still allowing the raw emotion I wanted to convey to shine through.

  1. You mention that Hands captures a vulnerable side of yourself that you haven’t always shown. What led you to reveal this part of yourself in this particular song?

I would say love and it just felt that this was the right moment to show a side of myself that I’ve kept guarded in the past. I wanted to break away from the perception that vulnerability is a sign of weakness. “Hands” was the perfect vehicle for this because it allowed me to show that being open and exposed beautifully coexist with confidence. The experiences I’ve had in my personal life, especially in recent years, helped me understand the strength that lies in being real, and I wanted to share that truth through my music.
