KUZH Proves She’s a Star Amid Tragedies

Life really has its quirks. Sometimes it feels like an adrenaline rush right after an exhilarating rollercoaster ride, and sometimes it feels like it absolutely hates you. And for musician KUZH, her ride at the top did not come easy after back-to-back tragedies.

Hailed from Matoaca, Virginia, KUZH’s life had never been so smooth. Just like any small-town artist, her dream of becoming an established musician seemed impossible due to the lack of support and obvious disgust in the faces of strangers. KUZH claims that in Matoaca, small-town dreams are nothing but complete nonsense. However, KUZH was determined to realize the life she had envisioned. After many tribulations, KUZH mustered the courage to walk out the door and move anywhere her feet took her so that people could hear the music she is so proud of.

Through her tireless effort, KUZH eventually landed minor gigs in Richmond, Virginia. Furthermore, her eagerness to excel took her small career further. KUZH inked a deal with Black Diamond Ent. She expressed that her stay in the brand was not the best. However, the experience and connections she made took her career a step higher. She was the opening act for Waka Flocka, OMG Girlz, Jacob Lattimore, Gillie the Kid, and more.

But life happened; her heydays were cut short. In 2016, KUZH was involved in a shooting incident and was sentenced to 10 years with 8 suspended. After discovering that she was going away, she dropped “Did It Again,” “Motel 6,” and four other singles.

After being released, it was as if KUZH finally had a moment to breathe. She moved to CTL to have a new lease on life. Her clean slate and fiery motivation to restart once again helped her adjust to the unique setting. Fortunately, the rapper was back on her feet and managed to cope with the years she had lost. And finally, her return to music was inevitable.

Until she realized that she really was a lightning rod for tragedies, KUZH’s return to music was postponed, as she got into a car crash accident. According to her, it nearly cost her her life. However, KUZH proved that she was cleverer and more determined than life itself. Despite the very long recovery period, KUZH willed herself to record and release a category of music. She dropped “You Say,” “With Me,” and “Talk is Cheap.” But what she is proud of is “Poly Love.” The track received more attention from the public and reached number one in the charts.

KUZH said in an interview that her looks are far from how she sounds. “What you hear is not what you get. What you see is not what you get. My music is always a vibe,” the emerging artist shared.

When asked who she was in competition with, she answered. “No one. I already know what I can do which nobody else can, that’s why I’m here.”

Motivated by naysayers, KUZH is hopeful that she will be in world tours five years from now. In addition, she wants her audience to listen to her music and dream of collaborating with her. She wants her fans to know that, “I have a song for just about anything you’re going through. I promise.”

Currently, KUZH has recently shared her EP, titled KUZH World, during 4/20 National Smokers Day. The singer also discussed that she is working on various videos to accompany her project. According to her, her fan base has grown since the debut week of KUZH World.
