Today, millions of women in the world find themselves in toxic and abusive relationships that become life-threatening situations if allowed to go on. Motivational speaker and life coach Mia GiAngelos has her heart set on a mission to empower women. She is using her voice to help women gather the courage to stand up for themselves and pursue healthier relationships through her platform Go “Love” Yourself.
Mia is a motivational speaker and master life coach who uses her voice to speak about relationships, dating, self-love, recovery, leadership, and communication. She works with people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, as well as those recovering from toxic and abusive relationships. She is also a victim advocate and dedicated volunteer who aids in domestic and sexual abuse cases for the San Antonio Police Department.
She is a member of the Toastmasters club, president of her own club, and member of the Continuing Education Committee. For the International Speech Contest, she landed first place in Area and third place at Division. She is also an advocate for mental health awareness, suicide prevention and awareness, and the #MeToo movement. Currently, she is focused on her mission to empower women and help them overcome toxic and abusive relationships.
The life coach holds this societal issue close to her heart because she herself has had traumatic relationships since birth, as she details in her book Broken Wings. Surviving and getting out of her last toxic relationship left a significant impact on her life. For some time, she struggled to deal with the aftermath, as she found herself drowning in psychological triggers that made her feel the emotions brought about by all of her relationships before.
She then created a Facebook group named Go “Love” Yourself to gather support for what she was going through. This strong woman was determined to move on from the darkness that shadowed her past. She wanted to grow into something beautiful, and she was determined to give her pain a purpose. Eventually, she learned to rewire her brain. She developed an automated response that helps her easily get out of her triggers. She managed to overcome her pain and trauma through effective techniques she developed.
Since then, Go “Love” Yourself has evolved into Mia’s platform for helping others do what she has accomplished. Through this, she is fulfilling her mission of helping other women find the courage to get up and leave toxic and abusive relationships. She is dedicated to helping these women cope with the pain and retrain their “brainguage,” the learned language of the brain, which is how one communicates with oneself that affects how they communicate with others and what they will accept from others.
As a life coach, she utilizes a strategic approach to help people break through barriers and overcome challenges. Ultimately, she helps people find their purpose in life and achieve their goals. Most of all, she helps them develop a positive inner voice that can guide them wherever they go and in whatever situation they find themselves in.
Mia’s passion for helping people improve and grow into better versions of themselves is what motivates her to keep going in her journey as a life coach and speaker. She is living proof that victims of toxic relationships can transform their lives into something greater. If she can do it, she has no doubt that others can do it too.
