Millennium Force, the second disco-themed track from Canadian-born but now Los Angeles-based singer Vivian Nicole Tesler’s upcoming album is getting set to drop worldwide later this month, and it’s coming forward to honor a good cause!
The disco singer has partnered up with F**k Cancer, which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity focusing on prevention, early detection, and supporting those affected by cancer. With wit, edge, and humor, the organization has been changing the way people think and talk about cancer and encouraging them to be active rather than passive when it comes to their cancer risk.
This mindset falls perfectly in line with Tesler, who sadly had her mother pass away from pancreatic cancer and the song will honor her memory during Cancer Awareness Month when it gets released on the 23rd of October; A portion of funds made off downloads and streams will be donated directly back to the nonprofit.
Tesler sat down with us for a one-on-one interview to discuss the new song, her mother, and why she now calls LA home.
- You are originally from Canada but now live here in Los Angeles. What drew you here, and how has it been while pursuing your craft?
I have always been drawn to Los Angeles for all the very obvious reasons: the weather, the lifestyle, and the versatility. However, the number one reason has been the entertainment industry. There is nothing on this earth like Hollywood. The combination of creatives and entrepreneurs is on an entirely different level. A class of its own. There is endless opportunity here. A world where, anywhere you turn, you can find yourself among the most fascinating creatives and entrepreneurs. These creative minds always drew me to the magic of Tinseltown. I am a highly driven and passionate person. When I set my mind to create something of value, the pursuit to make it happen has always been my top priority. I fit right in, and I feel right at home.
- Your first single introduced everyone back to the disco genre. What can audiences expect for this next one?
The second single, Millennium Force, is a further extension of the first single “Discomatic”. It represents the energy and freedom of the 1970s. Audiences can expect to get lost in the sound, whether in the rinks or on the dance floor. Millennium Force is ready to take the world by storm.
- With it being October, aka Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with an overall theme of cancer awareness, why was this month the time you wanted to release this song?
While recording my first record. My mother (my best friend, my supporter, and my biggest fan) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was healthy all her life, and we always projected that she would survive us all, living to the ripe age of 120 or beyond. Millennium Force is likely the best title that could have described my mother. I chose the song as a representation of who she was for all of us and who she was throughout her fight with this sickening disease. She was a force to be reckoned with, and I know she is continuing to look down on me, guiding me, and pulling strings in the sky to help make my dreams come true.
- You are partnering up with F**K Cancer for it. Tell us more about this!
I would first like to thank F**K Cancer for all their continued efforts to raise awareness about this nasty disease. My partnership with them is a tribute to my beautiful late mother, Adriana, who sadly lost her battle with pancreatic cancer earlier this year. Adriana was the definition of a resilient and strong woman. She was the ultimate fighter who never gave up in her battle. She was a special light, full of positive energy that could make anyone and everyone smile and feel good. It is in her honor that F**K Cancer and I decided to partner together to help lift the spirits of anyone who might currently be touched by this disease through my music.
- What message do you want people to walk away with after listening to the song?
The message of empowerment. I hope that Millennium Force ignites the fire in people to feel confident in whatever they want to pursue. Whether it is within a person or a goal.
- When does it officially come out, and where?
Millennium Force will be available on all streaming platforms on October 23rd.
- And aside from music, when you aren’t working, where in LA can people maybe catch you?
When I am not in the studio or working on my craft, you can catch me exploring the beauty of Southern California. I love being near the beach, such as Malibu or Laguna Beach. I also love relaxing in Temecula Wine Country. The serenity and peacefulness allow me to be the best version of myself and allows me to find my innermost creativity.
