Many of today’s most successful people are those who have experienced overwhelming trials but chose to bounce back from them. Melissa R. Williams fits that bill. The motivational speaker and entrepreneur knows what it’s like to struggle, but she has shown that we can overcome even life’s greatest tragedies.
Melissa is the founder and CEO of Recherche’ Enterprises, a multi-million dollar group of companies working in real estate, event planning, transportation, and logistics. The company has quickly risen to industry leadership and optimal sustainability. Yet even with the group’s rapid growth, its momentum has not slowed down. Melissa R. Williams’ business savvy started catching the attention of many aspiring and existing business owners seeking mentorship and consultation. That path would turn into another branch for Melissa, a thriving work in entrepreneurship coaching and strategy.
Despite the conglomerate CEO’s current trajectory of success, she has seen her fair share of ups and downs. Growing up, the entrepreneur became quite acquainted with the life of poverty. She grew up in a low-income neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, with her family. During her childhood, Melissa shares that she became a victim of sexual abuse. Things would only take another downward detour when Melissa’s father died in a tragic trucking accident that devastated the family. During her adult life, the motivator’s challenges would continue as she battled with homelessness while also falling victim to domestic violence.
Yet despite all trials that life threw her way, Melissa R. Williams chose to overcome them. In school, she would thrive and receive multiple honors, including induction into the National Junior Beta Club, serving as clarinet section leader in the marching band, winning the F.A. Douglass Academy Spelling Bee, a few science fairs, and an academic bowl. She accomplished all this while maintaining excellent academic standing, which would eventually lead to finishing as the salutatorian of her graduating class.
Melissa has a relentless drive to succeed. This character brought her through some of the darkest moments of her life and helped her rise above them. Today, she excels at all that she does and breaks new grounds regularly. But the successful mom and entrepreneur maintains that her motivation goes beyond just wealth and comfort. What fuels Melissa is her calling to use business to impact lives positively. She cares more about people than she does about profit, always seeking to uplift and build relationships.
In 2001, Melissa began her journey as a motivational speaker and coach. Since then, she has spoken in multiple conferences and events, including Educated Girls Rock, The Salvation Army, The Phenomenal “I AM” Women’s Conference, I am HER International Ministries, and many others. In 2006, the speaker also became an ordained minister.
Melissa has appeared in media multiple times, including stints on television show, Women on the Rise Atlanta and 99.9 The Beat’s Workday Wind Down. She has also guest appeared on Nashville’s 92Q FM.
Through all the hardships she has faced, Melissa has chosen to overcome. Now, she spreads a message of hope to all who are on their march through the wilderness, motivating them to persevere and remain hopeful. Melissa Williams hopes her testimony will be an inspiration to those who have big dreams for themselves and commits to impacting as many lives as possible.
