Artists have long been credited not only for the entertainment they provide through their choice of art and the appreciation they invoke for their skills but also for the inspiration that they spark in audiences worldwide. Some of these artists that have reached the summit of the industry have, more often than not, also started at the very same bottom that a lot of people have been in at one point in their lives.
One such artist who has proven to be a source of motivation, especially to those who had rough childhoods, is Dominic Ciccone. Known in the music scene as Dommy Divine, his life is a testament to the certainty that odds can be beaten, and people will always have the ability to overcome life’s adversities.
Born in a small town in Massachusetts, Dommy is intimate with hardships and losses, the biggest of which is the death of his big brother. The challenges he faced struck a fire in this music mogul, propelling him to become one of the major power players in Los Angeles.
His rise to the top started with his DIY concerts, which were held in warehouses and small lounges. From there, Dommy was soon a prominent figure in arenas and theatres attended by thousands of people. The success he found thanks to his drops led him to be the face of the New England music scene and made it possible for him to conquer Los Angeles after that.
Known for his sought-after pop-up parties, Dommy is now a staple of the LA hip hop community. And he has also made a mark in the EDM scene by founding the new house music party, “Bubble Up,” which swiftly became people’s monthly favorite.
He stepped it up to another level by showing his prowess as an entrepreneur with the quality provision of management and label services through his tour management company called Divine Minds. Divine Minds allowed him to hit the road with artists, handling all their business affairs during the tour. And this widely-acclaimed company has also enabled Dommy to manage prominent artists, develop relationships with all major labels, as well as negotiate numerous lucrative deals.
This talented star has graced some of the coolest events around the world, such as the Fashion Week in Germany and the Rolling Loud events in LA, Miami, and Bay Area. Yet despite the stacked-up achievements, Dommy shows no sign of stopping.
Just recently, he opened a studio in Los Angeles that has quickly become the home base for many of the hip hop community’s artists. Slime Vault serves as the main recording venue for the rising musicians in the genre as well as a consistent spot for some hip hop heavyweights to drop by and record at, including Gangsta Boo from legendary rap group Three 6 Mafia.
Managed by Dommy and his business partner Jake Godfrey, Slime Vault handles a comprehensive range of operations. Jake, professionally known as Illustrious, is mainly responsible for working together with the talented artists that swing by the studio, recording and developing sounds that are guaranteed to find their way to people’s playlists. On the other hand, Dommy oversees the growth of the business, handling marketing, media, and more.
After four months of success, Slime Vault is set to expand to a second location in downtown LA to accommodate more sessions. Aided by a group of go-to producers like Yago Beats, Kazi, Bizounce, and Sliqwin, Dommy will continue to carefully hand-select the perfect sound that will resonate with the artist they have in the booth.
Slime Vault, with Dommy at the helm, has only had four months under its belt, but it has already established itself as one of the premier studios in Los Angeles. In the coming months, the industry can expect more from Dommy in terms of music and business savvy.Learn more about Dominic Ciccone by checking out his Instagram.
