Nurturing Wellness: A Journey of Self-Discovery with Alexsa Navarrete

Alexsa, How did your personal experiences shape your commitment to well-being?

There were several moments when I felt like I wasn’t enough and didn’t belong. I used to feel the worst social anxiety. Eventually I started questioning why I felt this way. And through learning to understand my emotions I gained several self-care techniques that led to greater self-love and appreciation for my life. I’m committed to these techniques because they help me calm the anxiety.

Could you share key moments or experiences that have influenced your perspective on the importance of self-care and overall well-being?

I’m not perfect, I don’t always stick to my routine. I’ve realized that when I don’t make time for self-care, I’m not making time for ME. Therefore, I’m not nurturing the relationship with myself. I lose that connection with myself causing me to feel confused or foggy. Self-care is so important because it keeps me centered, balanced, and clear.

What does wellness mean to you personally, and how do you incorporate it into your daily life? Are there specific principles or practices that guide your wellness philosophy?

Wellness is not just about your physical health. Wellness includes emotional health and mental health, along with your relationships. Are your relationships healthy? Are you being nurtured by your relationships? There’s so many aspects that go into your well-being. Having gratitude is the best practice you can have that adds to your well-being. I give thanks for every meal I eat. I constantly check in with myself to see how I’m feeling. This can be done through journaling or simply taking a few minutes to connect with your body. Watering and nurturing my relationships is essential for my well-being. And through this journey I learned that self love is the best love. When you fully love and embrace yourself you can love and embrace others without conditions.

Given your emphasis on wellness, how do you believe community plays a role in supporting individuals on their wellness journeys? Why is the shared experience important?

Community is so important! I remember a year ago I was trying to do everything myself. Trying to get myself out of holes I dug myself into. I felt lost and misunderstood. And it wasn’t until I started sharing how I felt with others that I started seeing a real change in myself. Being part of a community that understands you, loves you, and supports you is so essential for your well-being. The people in your community can hold you accountable and help keep you on your path. It’s just nice to know that others believe in your magic.

Could you tell us about your collaboration with Collective Resiliency as a wellness brand? How does this partnership amplify the importance of community in fostering mental and emotional well-being?

I am so grateful for my collaboration with Collective Resiliency. Being part of a brand that values the importance of emotional well-being has helped me deepen the relationship with myself. When you have a healthy relationship with yourself you shine brighter and you become a beacon of light for those around you. Everyone involved in this partnership radiates such a wonderful aura and it makes me realize how important a healthy community is to your own well-being. You need to be around others who share the same values as you.

In your collaboration, what specific products or practices do you focus on to enhance mental and emotional resilience?

I love the essential oils! Dropping a few drops on my arms and smelling the aroma always brings a smile to my face. Even when I’m not feeling my best, the herbal teas help bring me back into my body. I hear the water boil, I see how steeping the herbs changes the color of the liquid, I smell the aroma, I feel the warmth of my mug, and I taste the delicious flavor of the brew. There’s no better way to ground myself.
