In today’s crowded hip-hop landscape, authenticity has become the ultimate currency—and Philadelphia rapper CallMeShotti is cashing in with truth, talent, and an unstoppable grind. Born Nazahn Warren, the rising independent artist is carving his path by blending sharp lyricism, versatile flows, and real-life storytelling that resonates with fans searching for something deeper than hype.

On September 5, 2025, Shotti released his full-length album Unrequited on all major streaming platforms, marking a pivotal moment in his career. With themes of heartbreak, perseverance, and resilience, the project doubles as both a confessional and a motivational soundtrack. “This album was therapy for me, but I also wanted it to be therapy for anyone who listens,” Shotti says. From soulful tracks to hard-hitting anthems, Unrequited showcases the rapper’s ability to move between genres while staying rooted in his Philly edge.

The momentum surrounding Unrequited is also fueled by his collaborations with multi-Grammy-nominated, multi-Platinum producer Herb Middleton, a music industry veteran whose influence has shaped legends in hip-hop and R&B. With Middleton’s stamp of approval, Shotti is earning recognition not just as a local rapper but as an artist positioned for national breakthrough. His next big step: taking the stage at the Launch Music Conference in Dallas on October 4, 2025, where he’ll perform for industry leaders and new audiences alike.

The Balance Between Music and Academics

While most young rappers pour all their energy into chasing fame, Shotti is taking a different route. Alongside building his music catalog—already more than 200 songs strong—he is pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. That balance highlights the discipline and foresight that define his journey. “My mom, Tenysha, keeps me grounded,” he says, referring to his manager and biggest supporter. “She pushes me to chase my dreams, but also to stay focused on education. We’re building this as a family.”

This family-first, self-funded hustle has shaped his identity as an independent artist unafraid to bet on himself. In an industry often dominated by labels and gimmicks, Shotti takes pride in putting raw talent at the forefront. “I’m real, I don’t fake it. What you see is what you get. I’m not trying to portray a character or use gimmicks to garner attention. I put my talent on the front line and go to work,” he explains.

But music and academics aren’t the only things on his plate. Shotti is also planting seeds for long-term community impact through his nonprofit, Shotti Cares, Inc. The organization is dedicated to empowering Philadelphia’s youth through the creative arts, providing resources, mentorship, and safe spaces for self-expression. His vision is to raise funds for a permanent facility equipped with state-of-the-art tools for music, performance, and production—all free of charge for students.

To sustain the initiative, he plans to launch an annual music and arts festival, bringing together artists, fans, and community leaders to celebrate creativity while raising support for the next generation. “I don’t want this just to be about me,” he says. “I want kids to know their voices matter and that they can build something powerful from their talents.”

A Movement Bigger Than Music

What makes CallMeShotti’s rise so compelling is his ability to transform vulnerability into strength. Once held back by social anxiety, he now commands the spotlight with the same energy that fuels his lyrics. His goal for the future is clear: in the next five years, he sees himself headlining festivals, touring internationally, and signing to a major label—all while creating platforms for others to succeed.

For Shotti, the mission goes beyond streams and stages. He wants to use his music to foster love, unity, and peace within the Black community, addressing division and inspiring collective progress. “Music is my way of telling the truth,” he says. “But it’s also my way of pushing for change.”

With Unrequited out now, an upcoming performance at one of the nation’s biggest independent music conferences, and his nonprofit in motion, CallMeShotti is proving that Philly hip-hop’s next wave is more than music—it’s a movement.
