The rock/pop-punk band Power Take Off (PTO) recently marked their entry into the music world with the release of their self-titled debut album, Power Take Off. Launched on September 27, 2024, through Stryker Records and distributed by Virgin Music Group (Universal Music), the album showcases the band’s blend of high-energy rock and introspective themes that resonate across audiences. The release has already gained traction on the charts, with their lead single “All the No’s” landing at #28 on the SMR Top 50 as of the week of November 12, 2024, establishing PTO as a compelling new name in rock.
“All the No’s,” recorded at Megatone Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, by Paul Schluter and produced by Scott Wilson at Sunshine Studios in Colorado Springs, delivers an empowering message about resilience and self-belief. The track encourages listeners to pursue their dreams and follow their passions, even when faced with rejection. As a single, it perfectly encapsulates the ethos of Power Take Off—a band that celebrates individuality, persistence, and the transformative power of rock music.
Following the success of “All the No’s,” PTO is gearing up to release its next single, “Between You and Me,” which will debut on radio stations nationwide on December 10, 2024. Fans of Machine Gun Kelly, Green Day, Weezer, and Blink-182 will find familiarity in PTO’s sound while enjoying the band’s fresh and unique perspective. This new single is expected to continue the band’s momentum, further solidifying their reputation as a dynamic force in the rock scene.
The Journey Behind Power Take Off

Power Take Off was formed in 2019 and was born from a unique bond between its founding members—a father-son duo, Scott and Ayden Theis. As a fourth-generation farmer and truck driver, Scott Theis grew up in Verona, Wisconsin, and later developed a love for music. From his first drum set at age 12, Scott transitioned from drummer to lead vocalist, evolving his sound over years of performing across the United States. Ayden, Scott’s 17-year-old son, follows in his father’s footsteps as a talented drummer and passionate musician, carrying a love for classic rock and 80s metal influences. Together, they built Power Take Off, aiming to channel their experiences and musical influences into a cohesive sound that reflects their dedication to music.
Rounding out the group is Ethan “Hank” Schluter on guitar, Mike “Cowboy” Delp on guitar, and Jakob “JR” Ripp on bass. Each member brings their own rich history and personal connection to music, enhancing the band’s authenticity and depth. Hank, raised on blues and jazz with a penchant for classic rock, joined the band at 18, inspired by his father Paul Schluter’s legacy in the prog-metal band Last Crack. Jakob “JR,” an accomplished bass player with deep ties to music since childhood, joined after a series of serendipitous musical experiences with Scott and Ayden.

The band’s chemistry is undeniable, both on stage and in the studio. Known for swapping roles during performances, where Scott occasionally takes over the drums and Ayden steps in on vocals, PTO brings a refreshing and interactive energy to their live shows. Their performances are more than just concerts; they’re experiences that leave audiences captivated and eager for more.
Power Take Off’s Next Big Moves
Building on the success of their debut, Power Take Off is already planning its next project, which will be recorded in Nashville in February 2025 with platinum producer Malcolm Springer. Adding to the excitement, rock icon Peter Keys from Lynyrd Skynyrd will join the band on keyboards, promising to add depth to their evolving sound. This collaboration hints at the band’s ambition to push creative boundaries and explore new musical dimensions.
Power Take Off’s debut album also reflects the talents of industry professionals such as Scott Wilson from Saving Abel, John Lousteau from Studio 606, Paul Schluter, and Pierre De Reeder of 64 Sound. These collaborations highlight the band’s strong support network.

The band’s journey resonates as a testament to hard work, resilience, and the power of music to bridge generations. Scott Theis often likens songwriting to farming: “You plant the seed, put it out there, and hope it grows.” His journey from a dairy farm in Wisconsin to performing with his son is a story of passion, family, and the transformative power of music. This message shines through in PTO’s lyrics and performances.
Power Take Off is managed by Michael Alexander of Sandman Music Management, whose experience will guide the band as they expand their reach and connect with a growing fan base. With their unique blend of rock, punk, and a touch of nostalgia, Power Take Off appeals to a diverse audience, connecting particularly with fans who appreciate the reflective depth of lyrics that speak to personal resilience and a love for rock and roll.
As Power Take Off continues to make waves in the music scene, their compelling story, dynamic sound, and strong industry backing position them for a promising future. Power Take Off is more than a band; they are a voice for perseverance, passion, and a shared love for rock music. Their journey is just beginning, but the impact they are poised to make is unmistakable.
