Prøphet: The Voice of the Nation through Challenging Times

Prøphet’s compositions have been centered on soulful tones with honest and accurate lyrics since his first debut. He is undoubtedly revolutionizing the music scene, with a fresh determination to widen the reach of his compositions—famous for being filled with characteristics of reality and discriminations of all forms.

Isaiah Howard is an up-and-coming Neo-Soul artist from Raleigh, North Carolina, better known as the artist Prøphet. Born in March 1997, he has experienced a level of mastery of his capabilities in the industry. Growing up, he had an inherent capacity for the artist to be great at singing after following his mother’s footsteps, Karla Yvette Townsend. He is also a self-trained artist with a diverse background in music after singing at Powerhouse Church of Jesus Christ in his area at a young age.

Early in his career, Prøphet already established a name for himself as a songwriter for significant people within the music industry and since 2019. Simultaneously, it was also during this time that manager Ron Lucas and childhood friend Kamozie Williams—also renowned in the industry as a skillful pianist—helped him realize his potential and began forging his visions. The singer-songwriter soon decided to use his gifts and talents to start his brand while venturing into his capabilities.

Although he originally planned to become a sexologist, the artist takes a different route after a vision to be the voice of the nation. Now, he is recognized with his exceptional tone, endless voice range, and symbolic songwriting skills, ultimately defining who Prøphet is. Additionally, with his inclination for creating original sounds that tackle social issues and hardships, the rising artist is gaining respect and applause from all around the world.

At the most challenging times, Prøphet finds inspiration to speak up and use music as a weapon or aid, helping people feel empathy, understanding, and at times deliver a story of hardship unknown to many. In 2020, when the pandemic struck everyone, the artist released a single “Woke.” This song discussed the struggles of the African American community, emphasizing largely police brutality. The efforts of his message sparked attention overseas before it even hit the United States, remarkably touching and inspiring the hearts of many.

After the massive success of the newly released song, Prøphęt started a visual podcast titled Woke Wednesday. Named after his single, the show discusses numerous rampant concerns on racial issues, mental illness in the Black community, and even updating on some political debates. Recently, Prøphęt released his EP 1619 during Black History Month, with an ongoing release to be completed at the end of this year.

Despite the eventful life, Prøphęt continues to be heard. He has been singing around the state while being a guest star in shows with a group called Carolina Waves, founded by K97.5 radio personality, Mir.i.am. He also opened a production company named Prophetic Productions, with a vision to give creatives a place to dream big, make content, and use their talents to the fullest.
