When people think of gyms, the picture that comes to mind includes four walls of a single color, several pieces of equipment used for working out, and attractive looking people who exercise to maintain their bodies.
The reality is that gyms are often filled with people of all sizes exercising to become better versions of themselves. In St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, you will find a gym that looks like any other at first glance but stay for a day, and you’ll see just how different it is from all the others.
Pulse Fitness is a boutique gym that was founded by Robert and Lane Daspit. They started the gym when they found out that the local one where they met had gone out of business. As enthusiasts of all types of exercises and have been members of several gyms, they saw the opportunity to put together everything they loved with their own touch.
While most gyms consisted of uniform colors and giving a somewhat dull feel to them, Robert and Lane decided to bring some life into their gym by having some of the local artists in town paint some graffiti art on the walls. This effectively brought an air of vibrance, energy, and toughness to their project.
Knowing how intimidating the place could be, they installed special lighting to create an ambiance when people walked through the doors. The lobby was not the only place to be graced with the art and lights, however, as they installed multicolored changing lights on the ceiling and set surround sound to set the mood for an unforgettable cycling experience.
When the place was set up, their next step was to create programs for everybody. While they knew that they wanted people from all kinds of backgrounds to be a part of their family, they devised programs that could benefit beginners looking to get on the fitness path, athletes who wanted to train, serious weightlifters, and seniors who wanted to stay mobile.
They came up with an array of classes on the schedule ranging from boxing, high-intensity interval training classes, boot camps, yoga, Les Mills, step, core, senior speciality circuit, and strength training. To make them unique, Pulse Fitness set up “The Trip,” a virtual journey that takes its members to places far away on different adventures in every class. They also offered personal training, specialty training, and small group training, bringing in the latest cardio equipment, weight room, locker room, and shower room.
Because not everyone has a flexible schedule for the programs and classes, Pulse Fitness created their own custom app to give their members access to the minute club news, promotions, class schedules, and the option to purchase news services and products. By using the most up-to-date technology, members of Pulse Fitness no longer need to fret about coming to the gym 30 minutes early to book a spot and find out that the class is fully booked. Their app allows them to reserve their spots way ahead of time.
Robert and Lane have made sure that they have everything their members need as they share a passion for making a difference and influencing others.
