Meanwhile, Tianyue Wu has carved a niche as a visionary product designer whose unique approach marries technological advancements with a deep empathy for users. Her work has been celebrated for its creativity and functionality, earning her the Vega Digital Awards for Best User Interface/Experience in 2018 and the Gold Winner title at the 2024 Better Future – New York Design Awards. A Partnership Rooted in Empathy and Innovation

The dynamic duo first collaborated on the award-winning Wellness Support Platform for Immigrant Women, a project that earned them the prestigious Gold Winner title at the K-Design Award in 2024. This platform, designed to help immigrant women navigate healthcare systems in unfamiliar countries, integrates real-time AI medical consultations and translations, as well as in-person support from trained professionals. The project was celebrated for its innovative use of technology to address the unique challenges faced by immigrant women, blending deep empathy with cutting-edge functionality.

Shuting and Tianyue’s complementary skills and shared vision quickly became apparent during their collaboration. Shuting, a Senior Product Designer known for her user-centric approach and dedication to social impact, found a kindred spirit in Tianyue, whose designs are celebrated for their ability to bridge human needs with technological advancements. Together, they realized that their combined expertise could lead to even greater impact.

Uniting Forces: The Birth of QIMU Design

After years of individual success, Shuting and Tianyue recognized the potential of combining their strengths and diverse perspectives to create something even greater. This realization led to the founding of QIMU Design, a studio focused on delivering innovative digital solutions that challenge conventions and elevate user experiences.

“At QIMU Design, we aim to create designs that are not only visually captivating but also functionally superior,” says Shuting. “Both of us bring different strengths to the table—my background in user-centric design and Tianyue’s expertise in integrating emerging technologies like AI.” Their collaboration reflects a shared belief in the power of design to shape future digital experiences.

Their first major project at QIMU Design is an ambitious wearable device for anxiety management, combining real-time physiological monitoring with a user-friendly mobile app. “Our goal is to create a product that enhances everyday life, providing a seamless blend of functionality, comfort, and style,” Tianyue adds. The project reflects their mutual commitment to pushing technological boundaries while maintaining a keen focus on the user experience.

Beyond Social Impact: Mastering the Art of Design

While their projects often have social benefits, both designers are clear that their primary focus is on mastering the craft of design. “We believe in the elegance of simplicity,” Tianyue explains. “We aim to create digital experiences that are not only innovative but also timeless and adaptable.” This philosophy has driven both of them to explore diverse industries, from tech startups to established global brands, always striving for excellence in usability, aesthetic appeal, and strategic value.

Their accolades speak to their success in these efforts. Whether it’s Shuting’s work in crafting visually engaging interfaces that enhance business goals or Tianyue’s recognition for creating inclusive products that reach new audiences, their combined achievements are a testament to their skills and vision as designers.
