Rising rap artist Sir Holmes is nothing but passionate when it comes to giving the world a fresh and godly perspective of things through his music. Seeing how so many art forms are filled with negativity today, he wants to create a difference by highlighting the value of the strength of character, faith, and taking action. As a man who is deeply rooted in his faith, he wants to serve as an inspiration and show people how his faith got him through the toughest times in his life and brought him to where he is now – a music artist full of promise who owns his own record label.
Inspired by the late Tupac Shakur’s dream of one day changing America, Sir Holmes is picking up where the popular hip-hop artist left off and continuing his aspirations to make the country better. Sir Holmes considers himself a strong and determined leader of the Black community, and he believes that he can be a catalyst for the change that the country needs to be great again.
Understanding how powerful a tool music can be in influencing the way people think and live, Sir Holmes developed his own record label called God Over Everything (GOE). He envisions GOE becoming a phenomenal platform to promote equality, love, justice, peace, righteousness, and unity regardless of one’s skin color. GOE is also his way of inspiring people to never give up on their dreams. As someone who came from one of the poorest communities in McKinney, Texas, Sir Holmes and his entire family struggled with their situation of poverty. Being raised by a single Mom due to an incarcerated father was not an easy journey, but the rising rapper vowed that he would help his family get through it by rising up to be a leader in their home.
After having surpassed what must have been the hardest season in their family life, Sir Holmes is nothing but grateful to how God allowed him to survive and create a better future for himself and his family. His journey in the music industry, however, was not without any hardships. There were still discouragements along the way, but they are nothing compared to living in poverty in the past. Instead, he uses negative criticisms to fuel his dream to become successful, rich, and fulfilled.
“I got tired of everybody saying that I couldn’t do it. I was born a boss so it was only right that I would one day own my own record label. I wanted to create a better way of survival for people I know and people I don’t know. It motivates me to be the voice of the people without a voice and the people who don’t know how to use their voice. I want to motivate others to show them if I can do it, they can, too. I also wanted to show my sons that I can do whatever I want to do and so can they,” Sir Holmes explains.
At this point in his career, Sir Holmes is fixing his eyes on building his legacy and becoming a music legend. He understands that everything he does from hereon will greatly affect the legacy he will leave in the world. It is for this reason that he continues to rely on his faith and God’s guidance, trusting that He will keep on directing his steps until he has lived out his purpose.
