Rap is among the most celebrated genres of music today. There have been many artists springing from every corner to pursue a career in rap music. While other rappers are still stuck on the stage of finding their sound or waiting for a big break, YNG Mac Jay is already killing it in the industry.
YNG Mac Jay was born Malcolm Jubilee on October 2, 2000, from Salisbury, Maryland. He is currently residing in the DMV area, living his dream. Rap has always been YNG Mac Jay’s passion. He has been doing it since he was 6 years old, but it wasn’t until the rapper was 15 that he took his music seriously.
At a young age, YNG Mac Jay’s parents separated. His father was often in the streets and kept going back and forth of prison. Growing up in such a family brought the rapper into the same circumstances as his father. He started hanging in the streets and got into drug dealing.
But YNG Mac Jay reached a point in his life when he reflected on his ways and found that he no longer wanted the lifestyle he had. He turned to God, changed his life, and pursued music. He believes that everyone should trust God with their lives and that he will reveal a clear path for them. The rapper tells his life story through his music.
When he was 16 years old, YNG Mac Jay was motivated to work for Tops Cut Off, a record label and production studio. The first single he ever dropped was with the record label he was eyeing. It was called “I Remember Them Days,” and it made waves on Spotify, garnering over 15 thousand follows in a week. People who knew YNG Mac Jay personally knew he was passionate about music, but they were surprised as to how good of a rapper he was.
He was inspired to build his team and record label. With other talented individuals, the rapper formed YNG Band Camp, where he was one of the leading artists. He persevered to produce more tracks, and every single one of his creations received praise.
YNG Mac Jay wanted more, and so he flew out to Los Angeles, where he met the amazing producer Chase Bell. It took his career into a whole new level. Immediately after their encounter, YNG Mac Jay went to Chase Bell’s studio. He recorded their first collaboration called “Fly As Bee.” The track was incredible. What surprised Chase Bell even more was the fact that YNG Mac Jay recorded the track in one take.
Three months later, YNG Mac Jay got a call from Chase Bell. The producer saw immense potential in YNG Mac Jay and wanted him to fly back to Los Angeles to make more music. Since then, the duo became unstoppable. They started dropping music like it was nobody else’s business. Among their most popular tracks are “They F with Me” and “I Love LA.” Their tracks and videos gained thousands of views, and they still have a lot more up their sleeves. YNG Mac Jay recently launched his new single called “Lanes.”
“I Love LA” features Chase Bell himself and the spectacular Korynn Oc. Through the track’s music video, YNG Mac Jay met the fashion designer Perry White and the famous videographer Louie Gooie.
