The entertainment industry can often be tough to break into. The industry is brimming with talent, and it has become increasingly difficult to set oneself apart from the diverse and distinct set of individuals who are hoping to make it big. Hayden Todd is a rising LGBTQ star who is using his platform to advocate for representation in media, become a positive figure for the community and show the world how to embrace the pride they have within themselves.
Since the start of his fairly young career, Hayden Todd has become a thriving artist in the entertainment industry with the release of his first album in 2019, entitled GAYPOCALYPSE. With his passion for entertaining others, he has also seen himself in a starring role in independent films, music parodies, and TikTok content, which he uses to entertain his legion of followers.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 21, 1994, and raised in Burley, Idaho, Hayden Todd developed his love for the entertainment industry at a very young age. He recalls the moment that he initially fell in love with the entertainment industry when his father introduced him to John Carpenter’s 1978 Hollywood horror classic “Halloween” at five years old.
“I knew that he was destined to entertain in one form or another,” said Hayden.
At ten years old, Hayden Todd would build his passion for music by listening to rap artists such as Lil’ Wayne, Eminem, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj. “I found myself writing rhymes, lyrics, songs, and even scripts in my journals throughout my schooling,” shared the rising star. Once he reached high school, Hayden would then become a show choir performer for three years with the Declo High Trendsetters.
In 2013, he made his way back to Salt Lake City, Utah and attended Salt Lake Community College for their film program, where he picked up the necessary skills to direct, film, and edit his own music videos. With his talent and on-screen charisma on full display, Hayden Todd would find himself starring in an independent film called “Red Eye,” written and directed by Deranged Mind Entertainment back in 2016.
Furthermore, his passion for rap music would lead him to eventually shoot his first music parody, “Lawn Guy.” The parody was then followed up by “Salt Lake City Dreams,” both of which sparked his love of music and writing. Much of his online content would follow this style, with Hayden soon amassing 55,000 followers on Tik Tok due to a video of him lip-syncing to the Golden Girls.
After the successful release of his 2019 album, Hayden Todd would then release his most popular song, “Barbie Girl,” in 2020. He would also appear in several features in other songs: “FBoy Fall,” “3, 2, 1 Vogue,” “Another Guy (Remix),” “Cap,” and a couple of freestyles to “Whole Lotta Choppas” and “Trollz.” In 2021, Hayden Todd would see the release of his second album entitled Hayden Todd: Volume One.
Since the release of his second album, the rising entertainment artist has done local performances at The Sun Trapp, an LGBTQ bar in Salt Lake City, Utah, along with other local venues and other LGBTQ events.
“With each new song that I write and each new performance, my strength as an entertainer constantly grows. My current single, ‘Long Lost Love,’ is a testament to my growth as an artist and is only a stepping stone for music yet to come. With the support of my family, friends, and fans (my Hot Toddies), I hope to see myself as being a strong role model and voice for the LGBTQ community,” shared Hayden Todd.
In line with his advocacy to share his voice for the LGBTQ community, Hayden Todd would perform as an opener for another LGBTQ icon Todrick Hall at the Loud & Queer SLC Pride 2021. Hayden has also been asked to perform in the Las Vega Pride, which will be held on October 10, 2022. Things are looking extremely bright for the rising star, and it’s exciting to see how his career will elevate in the years to come.
