Music, even though it’s subjective, can be refreshed and finetuned to appeal to more ears. Folk music icon Rob Bailey is refreshing American folk music and is doing it with Jake Hill in a new earth-shattering band titled Land & Ammo.
Rob Baily has spent over a decade building his profile in the music world, which he did with two bands, Kill Rob Bailey and The Hustle Standard. Since 2012, he hit the ground running with his self-published albums and recorded instant success on arrival. His albums have made #1 on iTunes Charts, number #6 on the Billboard Charts and #14 on the overall digital sales charts. His success was profound, and he got affiliated with ESPN Sports Center, featured in different television shows, South Pole film and scored a remix with iconic rapper Busta Rhymes. His electronic inspirational workout music with aggressive music made an impression on his audience.
Having made a mark on people all by himself, Rob Bailey’s upcoming band with Jake Hill is set to deliver some freshness to American folk music fans. The band will release its first single on May 1st, 2022 and give folk music fans something new to revel in. Jake Hill, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, is also a longtime songwriter and live performer. Rob respects him a lot, and in his words, he said: “The two of us seem to fit together perfectly in this new sound. I think this is a brand new look for American folk music. Although we are telling an ominous tale, the song still feels upbeat, like a battle cry. It is a song that truly gets in the listener and encourages them to chant along. When I picture American folk music, it seems to lack energy. However, in Land & Ammo, we bring that energy.”
Rob and Jake hope to connect with as many people as possible, including those who may not be traditionally interested in folk music. “We really spent some time navigating through what we think it is to be American without taking it too far down a political path,” he noted. “I believe we are making music for everyone. I think the gang vocals and the acoustic guitar and our two voices work extremely well together. Although they are aggressive, they will be easily digestible to the general public.”
Launching Land & Ammo this year seems like the perfect time for the two friends who have known each other for over a decade. They are both passionate about self-expression, and after ten years of making their marks individually, they are now doing something major collaboratively. Also, while Jake Hill is an experienced live performer, Rob has never performed live and hopes that this new collaboration will enable him to get out more in front of people.
Their goal for the next few years is to continue making music and going on tour while bringing people together, blending multiple genres of music and entertaining the world. Rob Bailey also hopes to continue his day-to-day activities, which include fashion designing, business mentoring, real estate investing, being a pilot and husband. Land & Ammo will premiere on YouTube and Spotify on May 1, 2022.
