Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Shakere Banks, aka Ricky Banks, more famously known as DJ Hypemanricky, has cultivated quite an astonishing career in the industry. He initially got his start as a radio host on BigLink Radio 97.5 FM and from there went on to host at 91.7 FM Gems Radio. With over 15 years of experience as a DJ and 12 years of radio experience, the talented artist has now become the new face of the online radio world as the VP of Boominlive Radio.
With DJ Hypemanricky at the helm, Boominlive Radio has built a pristine reputation as the number one source for music and entertainment. “It’s all about having fun and making people have a good time; better yet, making the customer happy,” shared Ricky. The esteemed DJ is a master at his craft, building up the hype at major events and elevating the energy with every performance.

DJ Hypemanricky became a well-known artist once he started hosting parties at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Eventually, he upped his game and hosted many events all across the city of Paterson. From his humble beginnings as a DJ touring around with a Desktop computer, since the more advanced technology wasn’t out yet, to his first ever massive gig, DJ Hypemanricky has never let down a crowd, bringing out the thunder wherever he goes.
His radio career is also nothing to scoff at, DJ Hypemanricky has had the extreme privilege of interviewing the world’s biggest artists such as Fetty Wap, Lil Mo, J.Holiday, Jamar Hill, Hi-Five, Yung La, Justin Love, Vina Love, Drag-On, and the list goes on and on. Equipped with his own distinct musical style, DJ Hypemanricky has become one of the most sought-after DJs all across the world, with people constantly coming up to him to praise his immense body of work.
“I feel nobody can out hype me when it comes to moving a crowd in a stadium or club. I’m a one-man band. That’s it,” he passionately explained.
When asked what motivated him to build his own brand, DJ Hypemanricky replied, “The people, The love, The energy. And when people overlook my talents and book other DJs because they believe that I can’t rock like the rest of the DJs in the market. So when I get on the set, I prove them wrong. Either it is a party or on the radio. I know I am one of the best in the game, and I know I will be there one day.”
Five years from now, DJ Hypemanricky sees himself on Hot 97’ or 105.1FM or maybe even 107.5FM. His short-term goal is to get on one of those stations one day while also moving forward in his rapidly emerging career and online radio brand. “I feel a lot more people are going to start paying more attention to internet radio, and that will be our station BoominLive Radio,” shared Ricky.
