There is a new wave of filmmakers taking strides in the fast-paced age of Hollywood. This is an exciting time in the independent film and television industry, and few are embracing it, like dynamic producer and creative artist/actor Myia Elliott.
Elliott, the founder of the production company Irish F-ing Attitude® Studios, has been gracing Los Angeles, California, with her bold and brilliant presence. She has done this in front of and behind the camera, creating content throughout the entire film pipeline. She puts her unique touch on every facet of filmmaking, from concept to mastering. She has positioned herself to create innovative, insightful, and inspiring projects.
Elliott was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and grew up in Dublin. She holds a postgraduate degree in creative production and screen finance and a Philosophy degree from the University College Dublin (UCD). She studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and is qualified in editing, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos mastering. With exceptional knowledge, experience, and multiple credentials, Elliott found a love for connecting directly with audiences.
Her first acting role on film was on the six-time prime-time Emmy-winning Showtime hit series, “The Tudors.” Throughout her acting career, Elliott has starred alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, including Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Henry Cavill, Colin Farrell, Aaron Taylor Johnson, and Natalie Dormer. Being an actress in Hollywood naturally exposed Elliott to other facets of the industry, and she soon found herself passionate about many aspects of filmmaking.
Elliott is inspired by multi-talented cinematic auteurs like Tarantino, Kubrick, Scorsese, and Kurosawa. She has expressed excitement about seeing more female auteurs like Greta Gerwig, Jane Campion, and Katherine Bigelow succeed in the film industry. Elliott appreciates auteurs’ originality, “there is a distinctive creative voice that carries from project to project due to the level of influence across multiple aspects of their films.” However, with Elliott’s exceptional background, including International Screen Finance, she is also aware of how it can make a project difficult to finance and how females typically are not funded in film to the level of their male counterparts, presenting unique challenges in career development for female filmmakers that men do not have. But she also expresses enthusiastically that “where there’s a will, there’s a way! There are excellent international incentives and financing options; it’s a global industry now.”
Elliott has learned development from Academy Award-winning producers and multiple Academy Award-winning writers and continues to enjoy the pleasure of working with Emmy award-winning teams. Her exceptional talent, passion for story, and unique creative vision set her apart.

With her studio, Irish F-ing Attitude®, Elliott and her team have been steadily tackling projects developed and produced in-house. Her insatiable drive to alter women’s access in front of and behind the Hollywood lens is impossible to overlook. Elliott is a steadfast champion of an all-inclusive environment in film, and much more representation is needed — even in this new, increasingly diversified age of filmmaking.
Even though she is an astonishing talent, Elliott is aware that recognition and accolades are not nearly as important as why we chase our dreams in the first place. What truly matters is how we impact those around us with the story. Elliott is no doubt poised to be a powerful Irish auteur and an inspiringly independent creative force in the film industry for many years to come.
