Members of the Generation Z population are starting to transition to a new stage in life. A large portion of the subclass is moving away from school and into voting booths. And with the looming election period inching closer, The Political Dropout aims to prepare the next generation to make sound decisions when they cast their ballots.
Political Dropout is an online political news publication created by students, for students. The website’s sole mission is to educate Gen Zers on pressing political issues that affect every member of society. The publication brands itself as a blog and a group that younger generations can relate to.
It aims to make politics simple and easy to understand instead of sophisticated and highfalutin. Students flock to The Political Dropout because it’s written from a student’s point of view. “I don’t think that someone that can truly believe in what a 40-year old has to say,” shares CEO and Founder of the online publication, Marcel Milewski. “Sure, it will be impactful and admirable, but the change and spark in Generation Z is going to come from a member of Generation Z.”
Marcel first came up with the website’s idea after most clubs canceled him out of debates due to his openness about the truth. As an advocate of freedom of speech, the outspoken right-leaning student decided to create his platform. Today, the website is a leading student website for right-leaning individuals to write about their experiences and beliefs.
The Political Dropout started as a small website where Marcel and two of his friends would publish articles every week. But since its founding in May 2020, the online publication has expanded, growing its staff base to nine members. Today the team has acquired a slew of prolific writers with strong political points to share.
One of the website’s unique features is “The University,” a section that features two-minute arguments on various political issues. The University covers abortion, systemic racism, billionaires, gender wage gaps, the border wall, and many others. The project serves as a manual for young conservatives who want to educate themselves on political views.
The Political Dropout puts primary focus on becoming one of the most prominent political news websites in the Washington DC areas. As an attendee of George Washington University, Marcel uses his networks in the nation’s capital to advance his views and empower conservatives. With their slew of ingenious political writers and growing readership, it’s most likely that The Political Dropout will become a significant voice in American politics.
The political publication is also looking to start a series called “Overlooked,” which will showcase memoirs from minorities on the right. The common misconception among many is that conservatives are without representation from the African American, LGBTQ+, and Hispanic community. The series aims to narrate the experiences, worldviews, and opinions of conservative minorities to shed light on an unpopular view. The series also hopes to expose prejudice and racism targeted toward Donald Trump supporters. “I genuinely see it being one of the most influential documents this decade has to offer,” shares Marcel Milewski.
The Political Dropout is in the process of collaborating with more writers from other universities in the area. They hope that by growing their staff pool, they’ll scale their efforts of advancing right-leaning principles.
