In a world of fancy Facebook ads, Instagram filters, viral TikTok videos, and a brand new marketing trend seemingly every month, there’s one principle that most people completely forget about.
The reason it’s so neglected is probably because it’s over 20 years old, but according to Troy Ericson, most people have no idea just how powerful it is.
“I always underestimated the power of email until my biggest client needed help monetizing his list of over 150,000 subscribers. I didn’t know much about email back then, but I took action right away and added a 10% revenue boost to that business rather quickly.”
Since then, Troy has gone on to serve dozens of clients on a monthly basis, in some cases creating over 6 figures per month in email revenue alone.
“There are so many distractions in today’s online marketing world that people tend to forget about email. It’s not flashy. But the world has been checking their inboxes every day for the last 20 years. They’re not going to stop anytime soon.”
However, Troy says there are a few major problems that business owners run into when they try to imitate his success.
“A lot of business owners fear that they’re going to annoy their subscribers or that they’re going to unsubscribe, so they don’t send many emails. The truth is that your subscribers are on your list because they want to hear from you. Otherwise they wouldn’t be on it. And if you don’t mail them often, they’ll forget about you. Sending every day is a HUGE component of success.”
You’ve also got to make sure you stay out of spam by cleaning your list about once every month to remove people who don’t engage with your emails. Also make sure to check your emails for spam ‘trigger words’. There’s quite a few other secrets, but those should help anyone who’s wanting to get started immediately & capitalize on an additional revenue stream.”
Best of all, you may be encouraged by what Troy had to say regarding email marketing during the global pandemic. We asked if there were any potential downfalls of email during Covid-19.
“I’ve actually found that all my clients are doing better right now. People are at home, desperately looking for things to do, stuff to watch, and cool items to buy. If you’re interesting enough and you have a good product or service, they’ll gladly pay you for it. If they weren’t interested, they wouldn’t have ended up on your list, so don’t feel like you’re annoying them!”
Troy has used his expertise to brand himself as the ‘Email Paramedic’. Why? Because he revives dead email lists. In other words, he turns bored subscribers who don’t open emails into excited subscribers to happily pay for products & services.
