It is a well-known fact pop seems to be an immortal genre in music since its conception. This is evident in the top 100 lists being circulated by a number of platforms over media and the internet for decades and counting.
We cannot deny that most of these songs have catchy tunes, which will make you hum to them all day. Oftentimes, we blame it on the phenomenon called the last song syndrome, to which you sing or hum the songs you last heard. But mostly, it is about how the tunes were made in a way that would make you remember for a long while, and not just because they’re catchy.
This is why, nowadays, some of these pop songs have lost their meaning over time.
Some lyricists tend to shy away from writing meaningful songs to keep up with the times. The beats do leave a mark, but there are still listeners that pay those words some amount of attention and notice how songs have changed tremendously over the years. Gone are the days when love songs were about the words, not the tunes.
But for an artist like Joe Rollins, he wants to keep definitive and meaningful songs alive.
Passion had already run in Joe’s blood at a very young age. When he was five years old, he would run to the nearest object that produced a sound. It went on for a little while until his mom stirred things into perspective. His dream of becoming a singer was realized when he saw his mom sing on the stage with thousands of people who had come to listen to her. For him, that moment was magical.
However, Joe never manifested his love for music during high school. Although he occasionally sang at church, he never officially signed up to being part of a choir. When he graduated, that is when his journey began – on his trip to Korea.
Joe was a military man. Because of the complexities of his job, he regularly traveled to some parts of the world. He eventually landed in South Korea, where he indeed found his calling and started recording his music. He had a splendid time in the country and made time to focus on developing his craft. He also met a famous TV actress and singer, Bronwyn Mullen, which helped him set his career path in stone.
That is why when he left South Korea, starting his career again became difficult. However, because of his passion and perseverance, the challenges did not hinder him from reaching his goals. Eventually, everything worked out, and now, he is preparing his album along with other singles that he is excited to release soon.
With his album well under its way, Joe is determined to write his songs in a way that tells a story. He wanted to bring back the days when songs were about the messages they speak and not just the tunes that it provides. He hopes that someday he could go on a world tour to convey a message that will touch the hearts of many.
In the meantime, you can listen to his newly-released song entitled, ‘Ps Light Up Shoes’ on every available music streaming app by visiting his official website.
