When Olga Amraie first heard Dina Kabdolla speak about her work, it wasn’t just another conversation — it was the beginning of a fashion revolution. That moment led to one of the buzzed-about showcases of the year: “Your Art Has Been Served,” a daring, sustainable fashion collection that premiered at The LA Fashion Show on September 28, 2024. Presented by Amraie, the show didn’t just highlight garments — it spotlighted a movement.

Kazakh-born and now based in Los Angeles, Dina Kabdolla has reimagined the very foundations of couture. Her eco-conscious collection — crafted entirely from repurposed waste like candy wrappers, food labels, and discarded plastics — challenged audiences to rethink glamour, materiality, and consumption.

“I don’t like waste,” says Kabdolla. “Being a mom and living in this fast-paced world, I realized I had to slow down — and bring this idea to life. I needed to make something that spoke to our reality.”

Olga Amraie immediately recognized the transformative power behind Kabdolla’s mission. Known for curating progressive fashion experiences, Amraie was captivated by Kabdolla’s passion and artistic integrity. “She wasn’t creating just fashion — she was telling a story the world needed to hear,” says Amraie. “I invited her to The LA Fashion Show on the spot. I knew instantly: this was the future of fashion.”

From Waste to Wonder

The debut of “Your Art Has Been Served” made waves both inside and outside the fashion industry. Models took to the runway in intricately structured dresses, sculptural accessories, and avant-garde silhouettes — each meticulously assembled from everyday trash. It was couture with a conscience, and audiences were stunned.

The showcase quickly went viral, with videos and clips from the runway racking up millions of views across platforms like Instagram and TikTok. But more than the visuals, it was the message that resonated: beauty does not have to come at the expense of the planet.

A Catalyst for Change

Thanks to Amraie’s platform and belief in Kabdolla’s vision, the designer’s message reached a global audience. Their partnership became a springboard for larger conversations around sustainability in fashion — and how the industry must evolve. As Amraie amplified Kabdolla’s voice, the collection became more than a spectacle; it became a call to action.

Kabdolla, founder of the Los Angeles-based brand AyA by DK, blends fine art and fashion with a sustainable twist. Grounded in the belief that “Art is me, me is fashion,” her label is known for its clean silhouettes, hand-drawn prints, and dedication to conscious design. Each piece is more than wearable — it’s a statement.

“This isn’t just a trend,” Kabdolla explains. “This is about responsibility. Sustainability is not boring — it’s the future. And it can be powerful, profitable, and beautiful.”

Pushing the Boundaries of Fashion

Later that year, Kabdolla returned to The LA Fashion Show with an evolution of the collection — this time collaborating with surreal makeup transformation artist Mama Kerr. The experience merged performance art with high fashion, turning the runway into a dreamscape. Still, the heart of the showcase remained the same: an unwavering commitment to sustainability, artistry, and storytelling.

Behind it all was Amraie’s original vision — to bring a designer like Kabdolla into the spotlight and reshape the way audiences think about fashion.
