Many companies believe they are listening to their customers. Sameer Narkar built a company on proof that they are not.
The Founder and CEO of Konnect Insights joined host Robin Ayoub on the Localization Fireside Chat podcast. Their conversation challenged how business leaders think about customer data. Narkar argued that dashboards, ticket queues, and NPS scores give companies a false sense of awareness. Companies still get blindsided, and he explained why.
Narkar grew Konnect Insights over 12 years without any outside funding. The platform now serves more than 500 brands across 35 countries. Its clients span banking, telecom, retail, and government. That growth rests on one thesis. Customer data is not a support function. It is a boardroom signal.
Why Dashboards Fail the People at the Top
Narkar told Ayoub that traditional CX tools were built for support teams, not leadership. Dashboards report what happened. They rarely explain why it happened or what it will cost.
He described a common pattern. A social team, a support team, and an analytics team each work in separate tools. Nobody sees the full picture. A complaint goes viral, and executives learn about it from the news.
Konnect Insights calls its answer CX Intelligence. The platform connects Salesforce, Genesys, ServiceNow, and more than 30 other data sources into one customer view. Leadership then sees churn risk, sentiment shifts, and revenue exposure in real time. Narkar believes this shift moves customer experience from a cost center to a strategic asset.
An AI Stack Built Without OpenAI
One detail stood out in the conversation. Konnect Insights runs its own large language models on proprietary GPU infrastructure. The company deliberately avoided dependence on OpenAI.
For most software companies, that choice would seem inefficient. For Narkar’s clients, it is essential. Banks, telecoms, and government agencies handle sensitive customer data. They cannot send that data to third-party AI providers. Konnect Insights maintains data residency compliance across six cloud regions to meet those requirements.
Sentiment Accuracy Across 35 Countries
The proprietary stack also solves a localization problem. Narkar’s platform processes customer signals in dozens of languages, including Arabic and Spanish dialects. He said the system is built to read sentiment accurately at scale, even when meaning shifts from one dialect to the next.
That precision matters for global brands. A sarcastic complaint in one dialect can read as praise to a generic model. Misread sentiment leads to missed escalations and lost customers. Ayoub, whose podcast focuses on localization, pressed Narkar on how the company handles regional nuance. The answer came down to training models on real multilingual customer conversations, not translated approximations.
The Signal Hidden in Silence
The most counterintuitive idea in the episode involved customers who say nothing. Narkar argued that silence is itself a signal.
A customer who stops complaining has not always been satisfied. Often, that customer has simply given up. Human analysts miss this pattern because they track activity, not absence. AI can flag the quiet accounts before they churn. Narkar shared that these silent departures are among the losses companies most consistently fail to predict.
A Front Office Operating System by 2027
Narkar closed with a prediction. Today’s fragmented CX stack will not survive. He expects a unified “Front Office Operating System” to replace it by 2027. In that model, listening, ticketing, analytics, and AI operate as one layer rather than six subscriptions.
The forecast is a bold one. It comes from a founder who has spent more than a decade building his company without a single outside investor, watching customer experience software move from social listening tools toward AI-driven platforms along the way.
